"Not a hotel. Rooms don't have a lock, heating doesn't work, bed is a double but with (cheap) wood header and footer, so if you're 5'10'' or more you won't fit. Quilts/duvets are cheap and the staff doesn't speak English. Any other place will be better, trust me."

"We loved our stay in late March of 2022! The room and food was wonderful and our host Teresa was also great. We arrived a bit late for our weekend visit to Edinburgh and she met us at the door and showed us to a lovely room. She thoughtfully worried that the foot-board on the four-posted bed might be bothersome for us as we are quite tall, but it was not an issue. The room was huge and comfortable. The location is great! We walked up Arthur's Seat in the morning, and spent the day walking along the "Royal Mile" - finishing up with dinner at "The Original Mosque Kitchen" hidden behind the Mosque on Potterrow, and behind the Aroma Cafe. Our student son and his friends eat here regularly as it is the best food value they have found in town. I digress from my talking about the Rosehall Hotel. The breakfasts were simple but good, and our room was wonderful. We will certainly stay again - I just booked another room for late May 2022."
