"It's a great shop right in the centre of the action on Byers road. Always well stocked, I've been using it for years. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is this, and honestly I'm not sure it's really their fault. But it's really really dark there at night, the council seem to think that there doesn't need to be strong Street lighting at that end of Ashton lane. It's unfortunate, as it's almost certainly dangerous for pedestrians who are down on Ashton then come burling out drunk etc etc straight into the street and the traffic. Marks could probably put up some lighting around their store to lighten up the entranceway which also ain't so hot what with the bins and the fact the council don't keep the street too well, but I do feel marks should have more lighting outside their own store, if only for the safety of their patrons."

"The bakery is fab. Lovely croissants, scones etc and the staff are great too. The lassie that works in the bakery is so nice. I shop there most days and there's never anything out of place. 5 stars from an extremely picky person. Well done."
