"Turned up for simple cornrows on afro hair (no extensions). Hairdresser was struggling with not just the hairstyle but my hair had control of her. She did not know how to keep it stretched as she worked so as to keep it tangle free. She was mishandling my hair, snagging it, over manipulating it (with a fine toothed comb, no less), etc and when I did not let her continue to do that she got all flustered, overwhelmed and angry. She could not even do the hairstyle that we had agreed to Pre-appointment. It was a disappointing experience. She then said that the problem was that I had “too many demands”. I guess a major red flag was when she asked me how I manage to grow my hair so long. If a hairdresser has to ask me this, and then proceed to mishandle my hair and cannot do even a basic trim (of split ends) then that speaks for itself. Not to mention the use of green greasy hair products rather than investing in proper products to protect and promote healthy hair growth. I would not recommend this salon if your goal is to grow and maintain healthy long natural afro hair. Best travelling a bit further if you have to. Don’t compromise on basic healthy hair practices and your hair will thank you!!"
