"We went for Mother’s Day and it was busy but it still felt quite calm. The decor was nice and comments were made on the lights and panelling. The menu had a good range, not too long but enough for everyone. I had a Mediterranean vegetable Wellington which was nice, although the sea bass with garlic samphire looked very good. The puddings were exceptional, sticky toffee pudding was had just the right amount of toffee and great texture."
"First visit for a Sinday roast. No complaints. Three large dining areas all nicely laid out. A peaceful but warm welcome from all the staff who were keen to help in a professional manner. No music or loud games machines made for a pleasant atmosphere. A range of customers and gatherings but not packed out with plenty of car parking nearby. The roast was a set meal with a colourful array of vegetables served up on separate platters. Three real ales, plenty of Thatchers' ciders, and no doubt some lagers too . Dog friendly, biker friendly. A perfect choice for a perfect day. Would happily visit again. Advised to book at least two days in advance for the Sunday roast. A village location."
"Having just returned home from a 2 night stay here . The room was well maintained and very clean . The house keeping was excellent. I paid for breakfast and what a breakfast, great size portions and great choice . We opted to stay and have our evening meal there also , a good choice of meals , wines and beers . The food was very good and the staff attentive, polite and thougherly charming. A young lady called Beth was amazing and nothing too much trouble, a real gem ."
"Simply outstanding. The friendly staff, service and welcome really set the tone in this lovely setting. The food was out of this world with a great selection of local beers and ales. I can't recommend a visit highly enough."
"Absolutely delicious Sunday roast. I had chicken, husband had the pork. Meat perfectly cooked, crispy roast potatoes, well cooked veg, massive Yorkshire pudding, proper homemade gravy and lovely, cheesy cauliflower cheese. Staff all welcoming and friendly. Completely exceeded expectations. Absolute gem of a place, we will be back."
