Emersons Green Beefeater

"Where to start? If you book here and its cold outside then please make sure you ask for a table away from the door!!. We were out for my dad's 78th and had travelled from Manchester to be with family. When we arrived we were sat right next to the entrance in direct draft which left us freezing all night. We ordered drinks including a bottle of wine and 3 glasses, 2 glasses were dirty, th me 3rd looked fine until the wine was poured and a soapy residue appeared on top of the wine. We raised this with the waiter who replaced the glass but not the wine we had to ask again for this to be done. The food was not of a great standard. The sharing nachos were dry, over cooked and had chopped chilli's rather than jalapeño and in our opinion a single portion. The chicken goujons had no garnish. The mains then came out and were not hot but just warm. And all the mains that were advertised to have coleslaw came out with salad. After raising this the manager advised that they had a dispute with the supplier so cannot provide coleslaw and our waiter should have told us. The rack of ribs were over cooked, dry and had no bbq sauce, spicy or otherwise and was very bland. We had taken a cake for my dad to celebrate his birthday. But we ended up taking this back and leaving. To be fair to the manager he did remove the price of the drinks off the bill in light of the poor experience. This was after he had told us he knew the table was badly positioned and the senior management hadn't done anything about it. So I can safely say I won't be returning."

"Booked table was seated in good time. Wasn’t served for 15mins, once served waitress was lovely. We ordered starters and mains, starters were small and tasteless. The mains we ordered smothered chicken melt which was less than smothered to say the least! Barely any bbq sauce, cheese and bacon were none existent. The chicken also had no taste and was chewy and fatty! The burger was dripping with grease and tasted sour (coming from a chef!) Was inedible. Can’t fault the waitress she was helpful, the manager took off the food on bill and discounted our drinks. All in all wouldn’t recommend!!!!!"

"If you go here expecting Michelin Star quality food or service you will be bitterly disappointed, it doesn’t pretend to offer that either, having said that it isn’t a cheap fast food place. It does exactly what it says on the tin! Reasonable food for a reasonable price, will they forget a few things and possibly make a couple of mistakes? More than likely! But if you want a quick pit stop for a decent meal then you can’t go far wrong. The fixtures, fittings and decoration of the bar, restaurant and toilets are in desperate need of a refurb and money does need to be invested into these areas of the property to improve the customer experience. I can’t comment on the hotel side of the business as I didn’t visit it."

"I didn't book a table and just turned up Saturday evening, on arrival I was told that the restaurant was not available as it was down to 50% capacity as someone had called in sick, dare I say there was only one table in use. We sat and ordered food at the bar, there was a good choice of drinks available and the menu has now returned back to the full menu that was served prior to the covid measures, where many places reduced what was available. Mains food was great I can't really complain, we ordered desert and was disappointed to find the sticky toffee pudding was served cold and that the churos and brownie sunday was also served cold even though it stated warm in the menu and was served warm two weeks earlier at the beefeater in Wenvoe ( Cardiff ) My only other gripe was that the glasses stank, there's nothing worse than glasses tainted by a smelly dishwasher! Please run a cleaner through it regularly. That's the reason I awarded this place just 3 stars."
