"No wonder Chris Martin ( Coldplay) popped in !! We rang on the off chance of booking in for Sunday lunch , although fully booked we were offered a one hour window , which we thankfully accepted . The Stag is a family run pub with a welcoming atmosphere . Sunday lunch was excellent , my wife is gluten free and she opted for the nutroast , we were quickly informed that it wasn't GF so she opted for the locally sourced chicken ( child's portion ) she was offered GF cauliflower cheese to compensate for the Yorkshire pudding that came with the meal , all served on suitably hot plates . The quality of food was excellent , wonderful crispy roasties ,extra gravy and lashings of any sauce you wanted . We didn't manage to try the pudding menu as we were suitably replete after the main course ! The staff were super efficient and very friendly , when you compare prices to other local pubs The Stag is an absolute winner !!"

"Met a bunch of friends here after a long, country walk and we had an excellent lunch. I had ham, eggs and chips and my wife had Beef Bourguignon. Our friends had fish and chips and everyone was impressed by the quality and the quantity. The beers were also good, a very well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and would recommend."
