"Guy behind the counter was nice and the coffee was good but after nearly a 40 minute wait which we weren’t warned about at the start out came the worst eggs royale I’ve ever had. The eggs were absolutely over cooked and the hollandaise sauce was cold and felt like it’d come from a packet. Big disappointment as the year before we’d had the same meal and it was very good."
"We went here today…..we were totally distracted by the behaviour of what we assume to be the manager. He was openly hostile and rude to 2 members of staff. I was amazed that in this day and age it would be acceptable to treat others (especially women) in this way. They were attentive and good at their jobs. I do not choose to go for tea and cake in a place where I can see such aggressive behaviour to women. He shouldn’t be working in the hospitality industry."
"We came here for breakfast. There was a great selection on the menu however service was very slow and food was mediocre for waiting time. One member of staff (older male with beard and glasses) who appeared to be a manager of some sort as he wasn’t wearing black like other staff members, he was extremely rude to the young waitress with dark hair who was very pleasant and helpful. He was passive aggressive towards her and made us feel very uncomfortable. It made us angry to see how he was treating her."
"Went for an afternoon tea, I know it's only recently re-opened but I found the service to be chaotic with staff not knowing what was what. The food was ok, an option for white or brown bread would have been great, unfortunately only white bread and it was dry/near stale on a couple of the sandwiches. I dont think I would return for the afternoon tea. The full menu looked lovely and I'd give the other options a try. Staff were polite enough."
"Very stale biscoff cake….unedible! Wont be returning I chose cakes from fridge, was given cakes from window….£9 wasted!"
