Reviews of Ecco Vino
"The first time I wanted to go in this place it was so full I went somewhere else. I came back the next day around 5pm and it was about half full so I had an early dinner and a bottle of wine. The food us made practically in front of you, so you have no wonders about what's happening with your order. The waiter was very informative and kind. I had the intention of having just the cheese plate and some wine but the food smelled so tasty I also ordered the risotto and it was very good. Prices here are fair and slightly better than what you'd fund on the royal mile one block away. Certainly check thus place out!"
"Was the food good? It was adequate. Was it worth $83USD (including 1soft drink, 1beer, and a side of bread)? I personally didn’t think so. I’ve traveled throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and have had better value for my money. But I’m sure there are enough tourists who don’t know better and will think it’s amazing….or just need dinner and will wander in off the streets. We needed dinner, place seemed decent, good reviews. So we tried it. Would we come back? Probably not. Service was on the slower side, but considering there was one waiter working he managed well and was nice."
"A charming and authentic Italian bistro in the heart of the old town, with the wine list displayed proudly in the walls of the restaurant. We had the seafood linguine, the mushroom and truffle ravioli and the spinach risotto. The seafood linguine would rival any coastal Italian restaurant, and it was passed around the table for everyone to enjoy. Agnes, our waitress, was attentive, and added to the charm of a relaxed evening. We enjoyed our visit so much we came back for mulled wine the next day…and may have ordered another antipasti board to enjoy with a bottle of their delightful white wines!"
"Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind here. I'm a chef and the food was exceptional. The mussels were hot and I mean piping hot but not over cooked. I was so impressed. The service was fantastic and an open kitchen to watch. A perfect date night spot. Or if youre solo like myslef. Truly a wonderful time"
"We went for our 10th wedding anniversary, and could not have asked for more. An excellent menu which was varied without being overly long or complicated ensured that there was something anyone would be happy with. The food was fresh, well balanced, and absolutely delicious. I have been fortunate to have mussels in a few places, and these ones were really up there amongst the best. Like the menu, the wine list is very well thought out with a good variety of both types and prices. The small staff on the night of two were busy and hustling all night, but without making us feel rushed. In fact they were friendly, helpful and polite without exception. It is a slightly smaller space, so you have to be comfortable being close to the other diners, but it does fit the feel of the place, and helps add to the atmosphere. All in all we had a fantastic evening, and could not think of anything that could have been bettered. Thanks folks, we can't wait to come back."
