"Our cat Jasper had the most wonderful care over the years, from his basic well being right through to his recent passing. They were quick to diagnose his terminal Illness and delivered the bad news with wonderful empathy. During his final months the reception staff always asked after him when I visited to get his special food. The vets who assessed him are all fantastic and whole team are wonderful. When it came to Jasper’s final day we arranged for a home visit for him to be put to sleep. The two Jess’s who came were so giving of their time, staying well beyond what could reasonably be expected. They were so compassionate and caring. I could not recommend Broomhill Vets highly enough Thank you so much to all the team. Jasper, Julie, and Chris x"

"I try to steer clear of leaving negative reviews as this is someone's business and its not my intention to ruin reputations. There's been a catalogue of 'unfortunate' interactions at this vets recently, however, and I know from friends who have had similar experiences. I'm writing this because perhaps it might help them review their practice. Towards the end of my dogs life, communication wasn't clear or helpful, exacerbated, no doubt, by the practice being understaffed, and often Ill-informed. I had to wait in the reception area too long on the day I brought my dog in to be put to sleep. I felt it was insensitive and cruel on my poor dog. We sat next to a bouncing puppy and it was heartbreaking. The procedure wasn't smooth and the conversations around what was going to happen were really odd and insensitive. I'm not going to detail them here, as it's traumatic, but I'd be pleased to discuss them in detail with the vets. Went in today to pick up my dogs ashes and the lady at reception said she wasn't sure which ones to give me as there was a mix up with the cards and the bags and therefore couldnt be sure if I'd be given the right ashes. She asked if I could come back next week once she'd asked someone else. It's taken me over 6 weeks to get the courage to come back in to collect the ashes. Death of a beloved family member, whatever animal is very hard. It's one thing sending out sentimental cards but I'd prefer you got the rest of it right, frankly. The experience deserves a bit of dignity."
"Extremely overpriced for an unfortunately low value service. It’s a shame as the staff are all very nice, it just seems there is a complete lack of communication, thoroughness and professionalism. It felt like going in circles with every visit I made here, and with each inconclusive visit, my dog only got more sick. After several visits to this vets, my dog became very ill - at first he was prescribed several treatments (that I had explained had no effect the previous time). Finally he was recommended an X-ray first thing the following morning, as by this point he was very unwell. I took him in for the X-ray and the vet had no idea what he’d even come in for, and no idea if he was a boy or a girl (this was not a good sign, as he’d been in at least 4 times before with the same issue…). When I arrived that morning I was told that an X-ray would be totally useless for diagnosing his condition so it didn’t go ahead. But was still expected to pay extortionate fees for this total waste of time! By that morning, my dog had collapsed and was passing a lot of blood. Complete negligence. These animals can’t explain their issues, so it’s really important that vets are thorough, precise and at the very very least, read the patient notes…? I’m afraid I wouldn’t put my trust in this service again. Ended up taking him to Vets4Pets Barnsley, and thank god I did - their emergency team diagnosed, explained costs transparently and treated my dog within the first visit! He’s now happy and healthy :)"
