Reviews of Charing Cross Theatre
"Great little theatre in the Arches under Charring Cross Station. Seating is either side of the stage, not quite 'in the round', the back row is only about 12 rows from the stage. Allegiance is well worth seeing. Great cast & music."
"What a wonderful little theatre. It is under the arches just a few minutes walk from Charing Cross Station. I love the seating on both sides of the stage. Wherever you sit you are close to the performance so it feels intimate and you have a great view. I was in the back row and had a perfect view. The chairs are large and comfortable and there is a lot of legroom there. Great selection at the bar. You can pre-order a glass of bubbly and a programme with your ticket which I had not seen before. I had a really enjoyable time."
"One of the smaller London theatres. Depending on the performance, the theatre may be laid out with the stage at the front or - as when I visited - the stage in the middle with the audience on two sides. I thoroughly enjoyed the musical Allegiance, which movingly tells the little known story of the plight of Japanese Americans in WW2. The theatre has a bar and is found in an arcade under Charing Cross Station."
"Recently visited this theatre for the production of 'from here to eternity'. A lovely small theatre under the arches, just a couple of minutes walk from Charing Cross or Embankment stations, and situated opposite 'heaven' the club / gig venue. This is a small theatre, for this production we were sat in-the-round, and it was a great, intimate experience. One of the intriguing things about this theatre is, being underground, you frequently hear the rumble of trains coming in to charing cross overhead, although it doesn't disturb the performance, it adds to the atmosphere. The theatre has nice toilets and a spacious, well stocked bar."
"Theatre was very nice! VERY Polite staff. Nice old theatre.....I had a seat in the box on ground floor and I was right in the middle of the action for FROM HERE TO ETERNITY."
