Reviews of Rhoda McGaw Theatre
"Visited to watch my three great grand daughters aged between 18 months and four years dancing. The show was staged by the Kelli Dixon Academy of Dance. It was so well received by the Audience and a real joy to watch those young performers."
"This is a very comfortable theatre, but I would recommend avoiding the edge seats on the first row. There was a horizontal floodlight behind the side curtains, aimed to spotlight the actors, but it went straight to my and my 2 year old's eyes because of the theatre layout. They should be offering these seats at half price or something. Avoid at all costs! The heating was also broken on the day we went so coats on! I hope that's something they will fix soon."
"We visited the theatre jan 15th to see a friends son in a show. The theatre was so lovely and had a great bar but what stood out was the customer care. On the way home to eastbourne our 5 year old noticed her pudgsey bear was missing. Too far to turn back I made a plan to contact the theatre to try to track him down. I made an enquiry online via ATG tickets who provided the phone number I needed to contact the theatre directly. I spoke with Simon who could potentially be one of the kindest people out there. He had pudgsey bear safe and sound and arranged to post him home. Well when pudgsey got back home from his adventures he had picked up a few extra treats along the way. Our daughter was thrilled and I was relieved to have him home. Thank you so much Simon you are a super star."
"Paid for Ambassador Lounge, a complete rip off. Selection of snacks turned out to be a choice of different flavoured crisps. We bought a second glass of Prosecco each, and we were charged £8.70/glass. Both glasses were nowhere near full. Never again. Also, only one toilet, so along queue."
"The theatre is nicely integrated into the shopping mall and car park. No need for an umbrella. They take COVID seriously but there is no spacing of seats. As a tall person, legroom is important. The theatre exceeded my expectations in this respect. The White Christmas show is based on the film but just cannot compete with the lavish film sets and singer/actors such as Bing. It is a pleasant show, with a liberal amount of tap dancing and songs from the distant past, but no one stands out. I have to admit I kept nodding off in the first half, but the second half was better."
