Reviews of Travelodge London Central Euston
"What a pity of location, with a poor room setting. The service did what they could... The hotel is well placed near London centre, with good connections to underground tube (metro) and some major train line. This is it's best part. We arrived and the booking system was down (some days later too). So the service had to go to a room, check it was empty then assigned it to you hoping nobody was assigned before. As it happened later to a colleague and she had to run away from her room. The rooms were not big not small, kind of tidy but cold. My room view was to a container less than a metre away, and 20 cm of line to some grass. Better to not stare through the window. There was no central heating and the cooling system didn't know cleaning for ages (loads of dust inside, don't turn it on). Most rooms will have an electric heating that will accompany you the whole night clicking on and off, to keep you warm. The bed was wear off at one side, sleep at the unpopular side my friend. There is iron and it's table so at least your clothes will look sharp. Toilet was small and functional, but the demist fan is more a tornado than other thing. But don't drop any water to the floor or it will stay with you, and make wet your feet. The breakfast is kind of... Well I eat cereals and some pastry, but the English breakfast looks more or less, my friends didn't like it. Coffee is from a machine, so not bad. Go to the breakfast as soon as possible, otherwise it will be crowded. I could say it was a great value for money if there was enough value for it."
"This hotel is definitely in a great location close to everything buses right there as well as trains. But it is awful if you don't mind the smell of the old carpets. Definitely in need of an update. Was expensive for what you got. But I'm sure that's due to the location. The rooms were not very quiet people were noisy. I hardly got any sleep my first night. And we had to have the fans on in order to drown out the noise. But the coffee maker was not bad although very noisy. I guess that is what you get for downtown London."
"Worst place I have ever stayed. Room cost over £140, but we had originally booked due to train strikes and didn't have much available to us in the area. Our first room had a carpet which had weird stains, hairs on the bed and in the bath, pillows that looked like they'd been sat on recently, and the worst smell you could imagine - a damp/mould type smell. The window had been left open (probably by the cleaner) but the smell was so bad this did nothing. The AC was dirty and was probably the cause of the bad smell. The smell was making me feel incredibly sick so my partner complained to reception and they moved us into a different room just down the corridor. This one was better but the carpet still looked very dubious and the room smelt quite strongly of cigarette smoke. There was mould round the window and the bath plug hole, and the toilet could have done a clean. I did not want to take my shoes off when walking on the carpet as it was still fairly dirty. The corridor outside our rooms also smelt really bad. One positive was that it was fairly quiet for a London hotel, but I would not recommend anyone stay here whatsoever."
"This is a no frills, inexpensive hotel. My room was clean, air conditioned, and very quiet. The breakfast was hot and plenty full. The staff were lovely and very accommodating to the point of printing our concert tickets. For a one night stay to a few nights mini-break I would highly reckoned. For £153 For a family room it's a great little hotel."
"Good basic, clean room. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Decent breakfast (although a customer tried to put out a toaster fire using a cloth... not blaming hotel though :))"
