Reviews of Denbies Vineyard Hotel
"3* hotel masquerading as 4* hotel. Just had a bit of a budget feel to it and we expected more. Restaurant very good but bar area a bit bleak. Small things like not having a good range of toiletries in the room, no fridge in the room so the jug of milk for drinks got warm very quickly and then asking the receptionist to book us a taxi and he grumpily said "here's a phone number for you to call them yourself"."
"High tea at Denbies Vineyard Hotel is one of the nicest things to do in the area. We enjoyed the champagne tasting and the high tea selection was great. The only issue was that we actually needed to ask for tea!"
"***** This is a restaurant review ***** Maybe I am just unlucky or my expectations are too high, I'll let you decide :) On arrival the hotel front door was locked and a doorbell needs to be pressed, exclusive... maybe. Once through the door you are led through into a dining space with less atmosphere than Mars, as no-one offers to take ones coats the back of the chair is a good alternative. I presume the table we chose was set up for breakfast as it was laid with paper napkins and not replaced. Starters were ok. The main courses had a lot to be desired with the salmon verging on ok+, however the pork belly and the accompanying vegetables were saltier than the dead sea. On remarking to the waiter on the saltiness of pork belly dish the waiter advised he would inform the chef. Most complaints are normally followed up, this one was not. The restaurant appears to be run and staffed by generation Z with no management in sight Best thing..... the cheese board Will I return...... never"
"We came for afternoon tea and tour ,food was not to the standard you would expect as sandwiches were a little stale as had been kept in fridge the cakes were cut in uneven sizes and scones could of been heated or warmed. Room with view nice"
"Four of us began our visit by riding in the little carriages that are towed by a lovely land rover. There is some commentary as you move along and when you get to the highest part of the vineyard you are invited out of the carriage to be served some beautiful fizz. Maybe about twenty minutes after taking in the wonderful views we began the short journey back down to the main building . We had a little while to waste before dinner in the hotel restaurant, so we went to the stepping stones pub . On arrival at the hotel restaurant we were greeted by very friendly staff. The food was wonderful. The day was a great success and actually felt like a mini holiday."
