Reviews of St Martin's Counselling and Psychotherapy
"My counsellor Kathleen was extremely good and helped me so much I can’t even put it into words. I started with really bad mental health, anxiety and depression and low self esteem. By the time I finished counselling I had a new positive outlook on life, felt more excited about life and I have a new found confidence. Kathleen also gave me the skills to be able to manage my thoughts and emotions so that I feel confident that I can handle difficult situations in the future. She helped me to find the root of all my issues, and made me realise how I am keeping my problems going by the way I think and act. She then gave me loads of new skills and strategies to challenge the way I think and to see how past experiences have effected me. She has helped to build my confidence so much and shared so many useful resources. I couldn’t be more thankful for the counselling experience I have received!"
"Excellent service with an excellent councillor. I had 5 one hour telephone/video consultations. At first I wasn't sure what to expect and wasn't sure how much help these sessions would be. In the event I found the whole process very easy to access and use. My councilor (Yebanji) was excellent. Great listening skills and was able to use what I told her to provide advice and information that was specific to me. She taught me some new coping tools that I did use and found useful. I made such progress that I felt I didn't need my final session! I would 100 % recommend this service and - specifically - my councilor."
"Really not happy with the service so far. Was asked to fill out a assessment form in august. Then was told it’s a 6 to 8 week wait to be seen by a therapist. Now going into November and haven’t been contacted. I’ve reach out multiple times and just been told they past me over to the team. They shouldn’t give a time period if they cannot stick to it. As dealing with mental health this is extremely unprofessional in my opinion."
"The counselling I received at St Martin's was helpful and no-nonsense. It was delivered by a friendly, competent counsellor and was delivered within safe and friendly boundaries. There was certainly no psycho-babble or attempts to confuse you with terminology. They are strict about you paying ahead of time, but always delivered what they said they would. I'd use them again."
