"The very best pint of Guinness I have had anywhere in the west midlands. Extra cold and tasted so fresh. Clearly a great pint. The lady who served me at the bar is. "A traditional rustic pub, interior decor in need of a bit of a makeover. That said if you want quality service and food, this is for you. We went for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Table service, a set menu of traditional roast dinner on Sunday. You have a choice of 3 plate sizes and have to tell the waitress what you don't want serving otherwise you get every vegetable being cooked that day. We opted for the Medium size plate, see photo. You can opt for a single, two or three course meal. We opted for the two course, with choice of sweet, see photos. The meal was hot, tasty and well presented. What you cannot see from the photo is two good portions of turkey and two slices of gammon obscured by the vegetables. Other choices of meat were available beef, lamb and pork. Unlike many carveries there was ample gravy supplied. Top notch food and staff. As I have said in the past never judge a pub by its decor. UPDATE: Went for a Sunday Turkey Carvery, some things never change and we were glad they hadn't, fantastic food, served hot, wonderful staff, great prices, whats not to like."
