"Initial Contact: In December 2019 I decided to turn my natural hair into Sisterlocks. I looked up a few consultants on the Sisterlock website and made contact with them. Paulette was the first one to respond. She provided information and arranged a consultation shortly after. Consultation: At the consultation Paulette asked questions about my hair history, habits and what I was looking for with the Sisterlocks and she explained the installation process. She took measurements of my hair and installed a few tester locks. The installation was booked for the end of January 2020. Installation Day: The process went well. Paulette took down my tester locks quite quickly and took her time in making sure my hair was parted correctly. The installation process finished under time, as it only took 16 hours (over 2 days) to lock 9 inches of hair (initially 4 days were booked just in case). I did choose to have the larger size (with the perimeter being smaller) so that probably assisted with completion under time, which was quite handy in being able to complete it in two days so I had two days spare at the end. Charlotte helped on the second day for a bit which helped in finishing on day two. Experience: The experience went well. Paulette is very friendly and professional, as was Charlotte. My locks follow a grid in addition to the natural shape of my head being taken into consideration. I am very tender-headed at the best of times (hair pins hurt my head) so I was already prepared to feel a little discomfort with installation which is normal (as there is a great deal of manipulation when installing Sisterlocks and plus my hair kept tangling, which then identified it would have been a good idea for me to have trimmed my hair first), but Paulette and Charlotte made sure to be as gentle as possible. After the installation I was able to contact Paulette to ask any questions I had during the initial couple of weeks and ongoing. I have recently had my first retightening session which was completed in about an hour and a half, which was nice and cemented the fact that choosing the larger size was a good option for me. I've had many compliments on my hair. It's filling out nicely and easy to maintain. I'm no longer spending hours detangling may hair and worrying about what to do with it. I can do nothing if I want... just shake it out and go...plus it fits under my bicycle helmet with no problems now."
