Reviews of Travelodge York Hull Road
"Really enjoyed my stay at the Travelodge on Hull Road, the staff there are some of the most friendly and helpful! Always smiling and wishing you good morning if you catch them. The value for money is fantastic, staying for an extended period was easy and didn't break the bank. The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to visit the university campus which is a 16min walk away or drive/catch public transport into York. It is nice and quiet at night and during the day as you're away from the main road. A few nice to haves would be the lights in the main hallway on a sensors so they go out as you get a fair amount of light pollution under the door, this was sorted with using a towel."
"The hotel is in a good location.Number 8 bus takes you into town centre , buy a group ticket for a day if there is 2 or more in your group it's a £10 and you can use it all day.The hotel is tired and needs new carpets immediately ,they are thread bare .Also shower work intermittently low pressure."
"Large, clean rooms, Friendly, helpful staff. Great location, good parking. Good food and atmosphere in the bar Sue was especially helpful. Travelodge would benefit from an update but no complaints"
"this place is one to avoid our first room was smelling of damp then during the night the water was coming in through the roof it was soaking. moved to another tired room. dint even offer us discount for the room on the first night and insultingly offered us the grab and go cardboard breakfast!!!. unless you are desperate avoid this place!"
"BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING ROOMS WITH TRAVELODGE. I booked a room on a Saturday night by mistake (I got the wrong date). That room was priced at £199.99. I immediately changed the booking to the Sunday night and was sent a confirmation email with the new price of £50.99. I was also emailed an invoice for £50.99. But Travelodge went ahead and charged me at the Saturday night rate despite this and are refusing to refund me. To make it worse this Hull Road hotel is the worst I think I've ever stayed in; the room was smelly, the carpet revolting and the rooms have clearly not been decorated for a long time. They don't even have hairdryers in the room - you have to ask at reception. I would never use Travelodge again and will certainly advise friends and family not to. It's a budget hotel at a non budget price and the customer service is awful."
