Pizza Express

"I visited a couple of weeks ago as part of a large group booking and felt compelled to write about our experience. Whilst we were dining a female member of staff whose name I gather is Beth was extremely rude and aggressive towards a manager, inciting some other younger male staff members to behave in an appallingly aggressive way in front of a fairly busy restaurant. This included swearing and there were children present eating. Whatever was going on we have never witnessed unprofessional, childish behaviour like it from the female involved and this really reflected badly on the restaurant. The food and service from other staff was otherwise lovely and the manager apologetic and clearly embarrassed."

"A group of us went for a prebooked lunch. Food was nice. However, we all ordered starters and main courses. They brought everything out at the same time. We queried at the time why they were bringing main courses out which would get cold while we had our starters. They didn't seem to know or care, just that it was all cooked."

"The restaurant was having a section of the ceiling removed and replaced due to a leak whilst we were eating. There were no barriers in place to cordon off the area, and no tables were covered. We were sat approx 20 yards away, so it was distracting and noisy and moreover, the food was being brought to our tables past the contractors cutting the section of ceiling out, so I'm sure we had fine dust on our food. Another table next to us complained but were told "it was their choice to stay or leave! " I didn't feel this was an appropriate response to a genuine concern. I wonder if this could and should have been done out of hours. We ordered 2 legerra pizzas which we quite often order, but todays pizza was a very slim ring of pizza with more salad than pizza. I didn't particularly feel this was vfm and I didn't enjoy it as much. Staff member that served us was pleasant enough, but disappointed in the general experience today especially as it is our local."

"I cant say how bad the service is .. took 10 minutes to be seated and it was quiet then once seated knowone asked us for drinks or food so when we asked to order we were met by a guy who clearly needs shaking .. had no pad and pen never spoke a word to us just grunted .. so rude so we had to leave with our children who were upset as they were looking forward to the meal .. I have never been anywhere so badly run in my life the place needs shutting down. If it was busy then I wouldn't of minded but it wasn't that definitely need new staff because the ones we met tonight are diabolical"

"It's a treat to go to pizza express. Their food is always great! Drinks are limited but still plenty of options. Due to COVID it's probably one of the best restaurants that adhere to social distancing. Bookings and track and trace, the service is good and this is a spacious restaurant."
