"Do not go to this garage. When I first bought my car I took it to this garage for a full service. They tried to say my catalytic converter had a hole in it and I needed a new one. They said if I don’t I would fail my MOT. What they didn’t know is that I had the MOT done as part of the vehicle purchase and got the pass result the same day I bought the car (same day I sent it to them for a full service). I then went to 2 different garages to see if I needed a new converter (at the expense of the shop I bought the car from), both garages said it was fine and both garages passed my MOT. It has been 3 years since that happened and my car has been serviced and MOT every year and have had no issues with it. Do not fall for their scam, go to an independent garage instead."
"I went to Halfords to get my car both rear tires replaced. I booked almost a week in advance, turned up 15min before my appointment, and had to wait 1.5 hours before they took my vehicle into the garage. What is the point of a booking??? Never again will I use this garage. What a waste of TIME...."
"Was booked in to have my wheel/tracking alignment checked with this garage, arrived on time no issues to start with. We were then told the machine ‘wasn’t working’ so they couldn’t do what we had booked in. No email no phone call nothing after traveling over in two cars so I could get home again. I understand machines may not always work but to be told when we had turned up and my money already being taken is a bit of a joke. Staff blaming the ‘booking system’ if that’s the case remove that particular service to book so it isn’t available, surely this must happen all the time. I’ve been issued a refund but now have to wait 5 days to see this again Also do not appreciate the way we were spoken to by some staff. Will not be returning."
"Don't even know where to start, Not happy about this garage whatsoever. What is the point of a booking if its happens after almost 2 hours when the car was originally booked. Nobody says anything until you say something. Not even an apology for waiting for 2 hours. Been to other Halfords garages and they where on time and fast. At least everything was okay with my car."
"I booked a MOT for my 4x4 online, received confirmation email and text messages and importantly reminder messages prior to my appointment. The staff were courteous and very professional. I check my vehicle in and went for a stroll. It should have been ready on my return after 45 mins, but unfortunately there was an issue with the computers. This was clearly explained to me in a nice way and another 30 minutes later the care was ready to drive away. I cannot fault the team at Halfords Grays. Well done!"
