Reviews of The Greenland's Inn
"Lovely spotlessly clean room decorated very nicely, plenty of lighting and mirrors for getting ready to go out. Hot shower also spotless, fluffy white towels and toiletries. Lady on the bar really friendly Although there is no kettle or refreshments in the room when I asked at the bar a lovely lady made me up a tray with kettle mugs tea coffee fresh milk for a very nominal fee of £5. Thank you for a good stay"
"Cold, Noisy & Musty. Avoid. On arriving mid-afternoon, following a long journey, we waited 15 minutes for service at the reception in a bar lounge area. Despite being at the bar first my partner was ignored as the foul-mouthed drinkers, I presume to be regulars, were served first. We found our room at the end of a corridor on the first floor overlooking Longbridge Train Station. The room was tiny, cold and musty. My first inclination was to put the heating on and air the room. The heater, however, didn't work. I had a late afternoon function to attend, so before leaving I spoke to the receptionist informing her the room was cold and the heater not working. I was assured it would be dealt with while we were out attending our function. Shortly after 8.30pm we returned to the hotel to find the room was still cold and the heater still not working. Tired, after a long day we retired to bed early. Within half an hour our peace was disturbed by very loud music. To be clear, this wasn't distant sound leaking through from some distant karaoke. This was noisy, bass heavy repetitive music that continued for well over three hours until 1am. While I appreciate Greenlands is a social club that put's on live events at the weekend, there was nothing to indicate the significant disruption we would endure on the hotel booking site we used, nor mention of this when we booked in. The noise level was beyond what I believe to be acceptable for anywhere offering accomodation, whatever the rest of the premises is used for. I used a sound meter to make readings throughout the evening as there was no chance of getting any sleep. The volume level average over the evening, until 1am in the morning averaged at 70db, at times peaking well above this at 80db. 70db is the sort of sound level you'd get from a vacuum cleaner or washing machine in the room with you. I had an unsettled night and awoke cold. The bright, near daylight illumination on the building from outside lights is not adequately blocked by the ill-fitting blind. These went out at about 2.45am. There are no drink facilities in the room, so a hot drink is out of the question at this time of night. In fact there's not even a paper cup or glass in the bathroom area to have a sip of water or to rinse mouth after brushing teeth. Nor is there a shaving mirror though there are the remnants of where a mirror was once affixed. The room was far too cold to take a hot shower. We left the venue early handing the key to the cleaner before we left. Unless you're attending a function at the venue itself or are happy to endure the noise, the cold and the mustiness of the room, I cannot recommend The Greenlands Inn"
"Thank you for letting us book short notice. The venue and service was top quality. My father in law would have loved it."
"Ok rooms, and clean but the staff are as miserable as anything! Would only let us stay if we had photo ID, one member of our party didn't so he had to book in at the Premier Inn at extra cost, then they took our debit cards "as a security deposit" but they literally took them into another room, out of our site, not sure you can even do that legally!! You have to phone if you're getting in late, not sure why! But they didn't seem happy about that whatsoever! Give your staff some training and sort out your strange company policy and you could be alright. But before then, I'll be staying with my mate at the Premier Inn."
