"I was given an appointment for 11 o’clock this morning on 28th December. Appointment card attached. The shutters are still up, so obviously everyone is still on holiday, which they would have known when my appointment was made. (I tried phoning the number when I got back home, just in case.) I made the appointment just before Christmas. I felt it was an odd atmosphere then, when I wished everyone Happy Christmas after I made the appointment and only the person at the desk replied. Apart from silence, there was a big sigh when I was nearly out of the door. It wasn’t my first appointment there, also not at the nearby hairdresser’s who has lost one customer as a knock-on effect."
