"Been a few times now and each time we have loved it here. The atmosphere is buzzy, its dog friendly, very comfortable (we love the big comfy seats!) and the staff are so attentive and welcoming. Most importantly, the food is superb!"
"Nice open space inside with a country pub feel. Outside seating next to the canal is great with marquis tents and umbrellas covering the picnic tables. Ample car park. The online virtual tour was helpful. Staff attentive. Food very nice. I recommend the seared tuna and the Mediterranean platter."
"Great atmosphere, good food and fantastic staff. We entered the restaurant without booking and the waiter found us a table very swiftly, ehich I thought was excellent given how busy it was for a Monday night. The atmosphere was lovely, we sat near the fireplace and had views of the canal in the background, which was lovely. I ordered the tuna steak and also asked to swap the side elements for the hake sides, which they said was no problem. My partner ordered the portobello mushroom pizza. Given how busy it was, I thought the food came out fairly quickly (25 mins). Unfortunately, there has been a mix up of orders and my partner who is vegetarian received a pizza with meat on it. However, they were excellent at dealing with the situation and swiftly had a new pizza put to her in 5 minutes. The tuna was cooked to perfection and the sesame crust added a great texture and flavour. The roasted new potatoes were nice and the tenderstem brocoli tasted beautiful and was tender. The sauce balanced the dish and enhanced it. My partner's pizza was nice, a good amount of cheese and lots of beautiful portobello mushrooms. The pizza was not as thin as the one they brought out initially, it was more American style and she preferred a thin crispy base. Both dishes could have maybe been enhanced with some fresh herbs. But, other than that, the staff were excellent and very attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food was good."
"We stopped at The Queen's Head for dinner by the canal back in June and meant to post a review at the time. We had a lovely table outside. The food was delicious! We were going to share a dessert but it was so good, I wouldn't share it so my partner got her own. The service was excellent. We would definitely eat here again if we are in the area."
