Reviews of Rabbit Hole Coffee
"Edit — I’ve been getting coffees here weekly since it opened. My original review seemed to upset some people (not sure why.. 4 stars is great for a new opening) I am keeping my original 4 star review. I enjoy the coffee, for me it has an acquired taste (it’s unique, earthy maybe is the right word?). I order with oat milk so maybe that’s why? It would be good to see new beans trialled every now and then, or some coffee syrups to change it up a bit. I usually avoid when busy, it’s a thorough place. I am politely saying it takes a little while for the coffee to be made sometimes. But this is because they care about the coffee and have a nice chat. This isn’t an issue, I only mention it as we order it ‘to go’, usually during a work break so can sometimes be in a hurry. A side note that the lid that the cup comes with can’t be recycled in Leeds. Maybe a re-usable cup scheme could be a thing? — Walked past here plenty of times waiting for it to open, excited to see it was today. Small coffee shop with a couple of cosy seats, simple decor. Ordered an iced oat latte to go. Smaller than I’d expect for the price, but I appreciate you could taste the coffee as they can sometimes be too milky. One thing I’d say is I didn’t even notice the pastries as they’re built into the counter on the edge, so heads up for that! Hoping in the future for more eco friendly packaging, straw was paper but I believe both the cup and lid were not recyclable. They use oatly which isn’t my favourite oat milk brand (questionable ethics), prefer califia farms or moma personally. Appreciate this was their first week of opening and hope it goes well for them. Would love to see some branded cups/ at least a sleeve. (Edit) Appreciate the response from the owner. All makes sense. There’s nothing wrong with a 4 star review, leaves room for improvement. Bit odd that other reviewers seem to be piggybacking off my review to “undo” what I’ve said. It’s just my opinion! My partner picked me up an iced oat latte today and it was in a bigger, recyclable cup. Good times"
"What a lovely coffee! I ordered flat white with hazelnut brownie and both were so delicious! The place is so cosy and perfect to spend the afternoon at."
"It's so good to finally have a great proper coffee shop on the doorstep. The coffee here is fantastic, the attention to detail in coffee making process of all staff is brilliant and you can tell it's a passion not just a job. Not to mention all the guys and gals that man this outpost are a super friendly bunch. Great stuff."
"I always look at this shop when I pass by as my Dad owned it for 40 years and ran an electrical repair service there. When I noticed last week that it’s now a cafe, I really wanted to visit. This afternoon I went for the first time with a friend and tried out an iced latte (delicious and not bitter) and my friend a hot chocolate. I had a sneaky sip and it was really good. Not too sweet and made I guess with either real chocolate or very high quality cocoa. The pastries that were still available looked really good and there was a steady flow of customers coming for drinks to take out. Im sure my Dad would have approved of it being a cafe as the kettle was always on and tea and chocolate biscuits available for his friends and customers if they wanted to stay for a chat and a cuppa. I was relieved to see the hygiene and quality of the refreshments have improved massively since his day (he used to stir the tea with whichever screwdriver was nearest), but the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner is every bit as good and as welcoming. I will re-visit for sure. A good coffee shop is just what this parade needed and what it has now got."
"Hands down the best coffee in Leeds! Was excited for the shop to open after frequently visiting the pop ups in Oakwood and Harvey Nics and the new place did not disappoint. The pastries are the icing on the cake, the chia seed flapjack is a highlight and the almond croissant could feed a family of four! Such a lovely, welcoming vibe from all the staff - keep up the good work!"
