"Have been coming to this pub for years and as a regular i expected to be treated better. Came down with my son for an evening meal only to be told that the kitchen was not open,even though it was well past the stated time. We were told we would be first to know when the kitchen was open, (being the only ones ordering food at this time i would have expected this courtesy) but even though my son asked several times we were not informed. However a party of eight people were not only served before us,my son was told we were unlikely to now get anything to eat due to whatever problems the kitchen was having. I am afraid i was too annoyed to even complain at this point and left frustrated and hungry. I have spent a lot of money at this establishment over the last few years,but may have to find another place with better service Sean."
"Being in the neighbourhood, l have always enjoyed the great service at The Old Maypole. Today was exceptionally so because l was assisted by Antonio without even making a purchase. He was friendly professional and bent over backward to support a neighbour outside of his normal working demands. On that please keep the service to the community up.
