"Ignore the bad reviews about online delivery this place is a must to eat in. Been here a few times recently and been amazing food every time. Lots of tables and space, the lager is ice cold and the staff very friendly. The naan was so crisp, hot and fresh I had to wait for it to cool down! The prices are very reasonable for the location as well. I will be returning!"

"Just back from a trip to Ireland, had a few pints in The Abbey (just down the road), was gonna get a takeaway but decide to eat in. Was not disappointed!! The food was gorgeous...I don't normally have any starter but was so hungry after getting in from the airport. So had sheek kebab, amazing. Then chicken Korma and a garlic naan, amazing!!! Then I had a dessert (which I never do cause I'd be so full!?) Anyways had choc ice cream and it was sooo nice, helped cleanse the pallette mmmmm! So glad I went in!"

The menu has a lot of Bengali-oriented dishes; overall it accomodates for vegetarian and other diets, there is a great and interesting selection to choose from and enjoy. Samrat is a great choice, whether it's lunch-for-two or a big group dinner celebration; alcoholic drinks are also on offer in this beautiful old-fashioned setting. On top of it all, the service is great."

"It's in Canning Town, so a bit away from everything, but if you are around and like indian food: theirs is to die for. Freshly cooked, nicely arranged, tasty. The staff were great, too. Go here if you have the chance to."
