"This is my local Vietnamese and I absolutely LOVE it. Their food is 100% authentic and it tastes amazing. My only “complaints” would be that they no longer supply mint in takeaway pho, and that they close too early on weekends. They stop taking orders at around 20:45 which is quite early so I’ve often missed out on their delicious food."
"Tasty food, I like their stew beef on rice, it’s “not” normal Vietnamese slow cook beef called Bo Kho, a bit similar to beef curry but really delicious, rich in flavour & creamy coconut in authentic Vietnamese herbs. Fresh & cool homemade lime juice!"
"After looking through all the reviews, I do not intend to try, but since I have coffee with friends at Sydenham they talked about nice Vietnamese soups at GAO restaurant, I give it a try last weekend. And this shop is now one of my fav place to hanging out, I tried spicy lotus salad + special Bahn mi + ice coffee, so tasty that I have to order 1 more Bahn mi to bring home for my partner to try & she also loved it. Don’t know why it had few negative reviews about slow service but it’s normal when busy day, No service charge here so you guys cannot expect like 5-star resto with 10-12.5% service charge. Just support small family business! I just hope this Viet shop survives so I can have mouth watering food every week."
"Their tofu baguettes are totally different to the ones at other Viet restaurants, tofu is soft & silky…mouth watering"
"The food was really nice there. The reason for two stars off for a few reasons. 1. The restaurant does not seem to have proper extract fan for the cooking area in the basement. All the smoke goes up through the stair. My eye was watering that I finished my food asap and left without being able to finish the tea. All my clothes smell afterwards. 2. The restaurant does not feel clean on both table and floor surface. My tea pot still has old tea leaves stuck onto the tea pot when it was served. 3. The service was a bit random. My food arrived but no chopstick to eat with. I have to ask for it. 4. The portion is not generous compared to other Viatnamese places such the one in Canada Water or the one in Woolwich."
