Reviews of Marquis of Granby
"Poor hygiene for example was very shocked when we looked under the sofa to a horror sight of food that was still left there from a previous meal. Lovely drinks and atmosphere. Also straws to abundance. The meal was gorgeous it was very nice I had the steak and it was cooked to a tee. Although I have to say that my chips came cold and my acquaintance ordered a different meal and it came a tad later than the others. All in all very nice experience apart from the chips, the sofa and the service."
"Went there the other night for some drinks and ended up having fish & chips a few hours later and my partner had a mixed grill. Fish was cooked to perfection and chips were top notch. Great portion size too. All the meat on the mixed grill was spot on. Both really happy and exceeded expectations. Asked for the chefs name and it was Henry I believe. Well done to him and the rest of the team. Will come again 100%"
"Unfortunately we had a really poor meal here. We ordered soft drinks one was unavailable so had orange juice instead. The glass was filthy. Ordered starters first choice unavailable second choice also unavailable. Third starter was Chicken strips served with a drizzle of Korean BBQ sauce and the other starter with mango and chilli sauce, could hardly taste the sauce. I would of thought it would of been better as a dipping sauce in a separate pot, these were presented to us in camping enamel trays/ dishes, no mayo no toasted sesame seeds on top. Presentation was unappetising. We ordered one Turkey roast and one Turkey beef duo. After waiting a long time my partner asked where our order was (they'd forgot) they brought the food out bearly warmed up, the Cauliflower was undercooked with just single cream poured over it! The Turkey was overly salty and the beef was over cooked."
"Thought I'd give the Marquis a try having just moved to the area. Georgia and Simon made me feel most welcome. Had a cracking pie, and ended up staying for a few more beers than intended! Lovely local pub."
"Table booked for the Family (4) today, received a warm welcome with friendly faces. All four of us had the Roast which was amazing! Ordered food and drinks at the Bar with Richy , who was very friendly and the food was brought over to the table by Ollie who was very smiley and helpful. Definitely be back next Sunday! All in all 4 full bellies and great dining experience"
