The Yard Chester

"This was the second visit to The Yard for my husband and I, having truly enjoyed the first. We invited a couple of friends to have dinner with us so we could catch up, having not seen each other for over 20 years. At the time of booking, I had requested a relatively quiet table so that we could chat comfortably. When Aimee, the delightful General Manager, greeted us on arrival, we were impressed that she had considered my request and seated us in a pleasant, quiet booth. It was a superb evening again! The service, food and ambiance were all excellent. You can sense that the team at The Yard are all passionate about offering a great dining experience. Of course, it was a real treat to try more of Carl the Head Chef’s dishes, especially when we explained to our friends that he had worked with Gordon Ramsay in his 2 Michelin Star restaurant. Furthermore, there is nothing pretentious about The Yard. It’s great food at great prices!"

The quality of the food is exceptional as is the chef that prepared it. This is one of the best dining experiences I've had for a very long time. Such friendly staff. "Wow wow wow. I went to The Yard this evening for a solo meal. The atmosphere and food were immaculate. Alessandra was the best host and made me feel so welcome. To say it was only her second day working at the restaurant, she really did set the tone for a beautiful evening. The menu changes every two weeks, which is a wonderful touch, meaning all the food is seasonal and fresh. Every bite was stunning. I will definitely be returning!"

"5 star experience! Nice decor, relaxed atmosphere and chilled music. Quite intimate but still open. Waiting staff were very good, left alone for long enough that you were not rushed but available every time we needed them and very attentive. Food was fantastic. Really nice mixes, my pork belly was a brilliant combination of elements, even loved the black pudding I never eat! On the slightly expensive side (£100 for 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine each) but worth every penny. Plenty decent restaurants in Chester but this was a little bit special and will definitely be back."
