"I've been to this pub a few years ago & found it to be a nice pub with a good carvery. I went there a couple of weeks ago & found it friendly, updated & the new owners trying so hard to make it work. Food lovely and staff helpful. I find some of the recent reviews picky & a little bit OTT? Not sure what their agenda is but I'll definitely be back tokeep a new business going!"
"Read all the reviews but thought we’d try it anyway. Bad decision, half of menu not available at 8pm on Friday. Available dishes arrived on very hot plates with cool vegetables in a tiny colander, cool mash had lumps and gravy tasted, smelled and looked like oxo. Turkey pie tasted oxoish but was hot and pastry was light. Wine was ordinary and expensive. Meal cost over £70 with 2 bottles of wine for two people. Restaurant half empty even with England World Cup match being broadcast."
"Got turned away because we hadn't made a booking yet only a couple of tables had reserved signs on them, lots of empty tables and a completely empty beer garden. For a new business I find it crazy that you are literally turning money away. A few other people also commented on how bad the carvery was saying that we had had a lucky escape being turned away. We did put this on your Facebook page but instead of replying to us you decided to delete the comments, strange way of dealing with customer complaints. If it's bookings only then simply mention this on your social media but when there are plenty of empty tables surely you'd prefer paying customers sat on them."
"Awful customer service. Had a booking and seated us right next to the carvery section. Was far too hot to sit and enjoy a meal there. I even explained my husband has a medical condition and can’t get too hot. Refused to move us to another table even though the pub was quiet and so many tables were empty. They could have easily swapped tables. Wasn’t accommodating at all. I explained if they couldn’t re-seat us we would leave an go somewhere else. They didn’t and we’re happy to lose customers."
