Reviews of Kirin Japanese Restaurant & Bar
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We were there a couple of weeks ago, when we arrived the staff seemed EXTREMELY RUDE and did not want to answer any questions about the food or our reservation, later he started SWEARING AT us when we pointed out his wrong attitude. I would advise to look elsewhere if you want to have a decent experience."
"I would describe the food quality as just okay, and the service fine. We held a company event there, and whilst there were no specific issues, I don't think we would go back. There are lots of far better Japanese restaurants in London"
"We've had a quick lunch. Small menu but sushi is all right. Not too sure about the sides as the squid were chewy and little bit undercooked. Also very tiny portion. Little bit expensive for what you get. Overall average price for the area."
"I went here for my birthday yesterday and didn’t have a good experience. When we arrived it was totally empty which I thought was strange. The waitress who served us seemed like she didn’t want to be there. My friend has allergies so we asked whether a couple of dishes had those allergens in so we knew if she could eat them or not. Our waitress said that she didn’t know because she didn’t cook them. Only after we asked her to please check with the kitchen did she do so. She also suggested that my friend only go for vegetable sushi because her allergies are ‘very special’ which was annoying because most other places can accommodate for her allergies. I understand that there may have been a language barrier but for a restaurant in the centre of London there should have been at least one person there able to handle it for us especially as it was not busy at all. The lack of effort from our waitress to try and accommodate for my friends allergies was very disappointing. We also tried to order cocktails but apparently none of them were available. There were a couple of dishes we tried to order which we were also told weren’t available. It definitely put a damper on my birthday celebrations. In the end we just got starters to eat with the wine we’d already ordered and decided to get more food elsewhere. The food we had was ok but nothing special."
"Food was alright. There is a hidden Karaoke at the back with up to date machines, but staff was smoking near the bar area, which made it not very pleasant."
