Archway School Swimming Pool
“Instructors are fabulous and class sizes are appropriately sized for abilities, I'm thrilled with both my children's progress!”
Clifton Suspension Bridge
“Brilliant piece of architectural design. It's a quite popular attractions amongst tourist so there are often some people around it. I would particularly recommend it to photographers, especially those that don't mind to spend even a couple of hours standing and taking some photos from different angles of this beautiful bridge. The surrounding area is also very pretty, and the parks just by the side of the bridge are great places for a walk on the fresh air, not to mention the top of the hill which can reward its climbers with some spectacular views/panorama. I can definitely recommend visiting it.”
Subtropical Swimming Paradise
“Big part of our trip each time, love the outdoor pool, so warm.”
Lake Grounds
“Nice walk with the dog, and good to see they are doing maintenance on the lake sides. The cafe need to improve the coffee, good coffee is the thing now.”
Cabot Tower
“A small tower that you can climb free of charge to have a great panaromic view of Bristol. Mind your step as there are no guards so there might be instances where you will bump into someone midway climbing up to the tower. Fantastic view at the top for photography and chill breeze to enjoy in autumn, absolutely recommend this place.”
Prior's Wood
“Absolutely stunning with a beautiful carpet of bluebells! Blessed with seeing deer, woodpeckers, sweet baby ducklings, squirrels and buzzards!”
Wild Water Rapids at Subtropical Swimming Paradise
“Excellent fun! Plenty of water flowing and looks fantastic at night.”
Farleigh and District Swimming Club
“I love this......it's an amazing clean site with safe access to a clean (as clean as an inland waterway can be) stretch of the river Frome. It is private, open to members of the swimming club only (membership very affordable and well worth every penny) which deters masses descending daily....great, also we members all help to keep it tidy and look out for one another. If you're local, join.”
Page Park
“Perfect for a nice walk to let the kids burn off some energy. Brilliant park. Nice cafe - perfect place to actually have a HOT drink lol. Have been coming here for over 20 years. Have so many memories here as a child and I hope my children can have many happy memories here too.”
Alexandra Park
“what an amazing view of bath! we walked from there down to Bath. the steps are very steep and uneven but worth it though as it's only £1.20 for two hours”
Conham River Park
“Beautiful park with a lot of lovely paths and great variety of plants and places for people to sit down and enjoy the nature. I loved the walk alongside the river and it was great to see some wild garlic growing in many places as well. I would have loved to have some more descriptions of buildings (old copper smelt plant?) and to show where you are in the park as a sign or notice board. It was very peaceful place and would be great to have more notice borda about the nature found in this site as well. There were some trash in the center so having no litter sign will be better as well. Highly recommend!!”
Durdham Downs
“Space for almost all runners, walkers and cyclists even socially distanced. But why still car access?”
National Trust - Dyrham Park
“Lovely park and gardens. Parts of the house were being renovated while we were there, but the exhibition and tour of the house was still absolutely worth it. The volunteers of the National Trust are doing an excellent job and in every room there will be someone telling you a story about the house, the artworks on display, all with a lot of passion and attention to detail.”
Dragonfly Leisure Writhlington
“I have been a member for a number of years and the atmosphere and staff are always so welcoming and the equivalent first class. When I had an unusual requirement, the managers were so accommodating and helpful. I can not praise everyone and everything about the leisure centre enough. Thank you Matt and Fi. Mike”
Team Bath
“Too a school trip of 30 girls to watch Team Bath play a league netball game here. The staff/marshals were great at organising the crowd and it was a very well organised, safe, pleasant trip. Loads of easy parking. Fun trip and good performance by the Team Bath ladies!”
Cromhall Quarry
“What a gem! Great for a swim and a chill after. 1 lap is 550 meters (apparently). Most people are in swimming wetsuits. It was 17 degrees (12 June 2022) apparently it'll be 25 in the summer. Book in (£6) before you go. Recommended!”
St. Andrew’s Park
“I really like this park - it has a lot of beautiful old trees which also attracts birds so you feel a bit more 'in nature' than in a lot of parks. Also there is a cute little kiosk where you can get a coffee or an ice cream. Only issue is there are a lot of dogs here that are not under control - off lead and freely roaming around while their owner is not paying attention on the other side of the park. There is a section of the park where dogs are not allowed though. Also the toilets are frequently in a disgusting condition or just closed altogether which is a shame, but I guess the council just doesn't have the money to sort that out at the moment.”
Creative Aquatic
“A lovely busy place bursting with happy children learning to swim. A joy to watch them”
John Coles Park
“Hard to find anything I didn't like about John Coles Park. Very well kept, lovely for walking dogs. A great play park for children including water play area. A smashing little cafe with picnic tables and big sun umbrellas to sit under on a hot day. Reasonable prices too. There is a bandstand, decorated all round the outside with hanging baskets full of flowers. It's so pretty that when I was there a bride and groom came with their photographer and took their wedding photos. Highly recommended.”
Royal Victoria Park
“Always beautiful at this time of year. Nice wandering around the paths taking photos then stopping for a tea or coffee and cake at the little food stand. If you have kids, it's right next to the amazing Victoria Park.”
