Preo's Thai Kitchen
● Open“Sooooo delicious! Food was piping hot. Generous portions. Fresh ingredients. Friendly service too. My Dad is Chinese and I can compare this to his home cooking. Oh, how different they are from takeaways. Non-greasy/oily, no sickly/bloaty feeling. I highly recommend Preo’s Thai Kitchen and will definitely be a repeat customer.”

Nom Wholefoods Ltd
● Open“What a wonderful shop! Great products - Nom's walnuts and dried fruits are the best I've ever tasted. I've been a customer of their online service for a while, and am delighted they now have a shop in Staple Hill. It's so easy to shop there, and great to be able to support this way of zero-waste shopping. Bringing my own containers also saves a lot of time decanting stuff when I get home. Win-win!”

Artichoke Wholefoods
● Open“A great addition to the high street. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The range of items for refills is good: cleaning products, shampoo, milk (cow and oat), nuts, pulses, herbs and chocolate, but what makes it special is the local produce like Chilli Jam made in Easton and honey from Fishponds. Plus I always come out with a great coffee in my hand.”

Novel Wines
● Open“My wife and myself had a wonderful wine tasting today with Ben. I emailed Novel Wines before Christmas asking about a Wine Tasting on a Sunday and Ben replied confirming they were closed on Sundays but said he might be able to get someone to conduct the tasting anyway. This was incredibly generous of him and I booked the wine tasting up. We had the tasting today and I have to say it's the best we have ever had. Ben is knowledgeable and personable. There were no awkward moments at all and we got to taste 6 different wines as well as a delicious dessert wine. We ended up buying 4 bottles as they were so good. I would highly recommend Novel Wines if you are in the area and fancy a fun wine tasting.”

Leaf & Bean Co
● Open“You'd think a quick stop for a last minute cigar in a town surrounded by countryside would be met with disappointment, but that was the last thing on my mind as I was leaving. After explaining the type of cigar I was after, the gentleman who served me gave me exactly what I was after at a price that I was surprised by. That said, I live in Australia. Anyway, it made for a perfect smoke for the day I had, and gave me a new favourite light cigar.”

Bottles and Books
● Open354 Gloucester Road, Horfield, Bristol BS7 8TP, United Kingdom“Popped in for a cheeky beer with my mate Mark (holding the sword in the photo) one Monday evening. I've walked past many times promising myself that I'd give it a try, but never having made it before now. Monday evening was good as they have deals on the tap beers, we tried a healthy selection of both the tap, bottled and canned beers on offer and had ourselves a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We hit it off like a house in fire with the owner and got to play with is his sword (not the best idea when we'd had a few) and on one occasion pour or own beers! I don't imagine it's quite like that every night, but non-the-less still a great place to go to get to sample different types of beers to the usual pubs and to talk with someone who really knows their beers.”

Alpha Bottle Shop & Tap
● OpenEast Street, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 4HH, United Kingdom“Fantastic shop. Offers an amazing selection of local and further afield brews. Prices are really competitive and it has quickly replaced my online shop for beer. I wanted to give a shout out the the lady who works there. I first visited by walking in with a child on my back and the second visit was dressed in all leather with a helmet on and yet she remembered who I was. That is a level of customer service you just can't teach and really makes a customer feel valued. Will be back repeatedly to keep the beer fridge stocked.”
