“Clarence is the quiet achiever of Brisbane’s restaurant scene! I love its unassuming location behind the green awning and simple decor. Owner-Chef Ben has consistently delivered great produce-driven dishes on all my visits here, with highlights including the duck, coral trout, roast potatoes and of course the signature chocolate cake and apple tart! Owner Frank is as good as it gets front of house with his knowledgeable and affable service. In short, Clarence is a place you’ll keep wanting to return to time and time again.”

“This is an awesome Greek restaurant in Newstead. From an entree of taramasalata, to the mains of stuffed calamari and stuffed zucchini and a dessert of rice pudding, everything was near perfect. The Greek wine heavy wine list is also very good.”

“I keep coming back to this ALL VEGAN restaurant for good reason. Everything on the vast menu (that I'm still trying to eat my way through), is tasty and addictive! Vegan lasagne, tofu bites, spicy samosa, pan bread...omg the pan bread! Macha green tea topped with coconut cream...delish! Then there are the crumbed mushrooms with an unexpected and delightful surprise of pickled vegetables, and so much more. With the option to buy their goodies from the freezer and take home it's so worth stopping for. There is plenty of parking behind the library and dining available inside, out or takeaway. Staff are so happy, friendly and helpful. Great place to bring the family, with meat lovers able to find options next door.”

“We've been here a few times and decided to attend their pop up event for international gin day on their terrace. The food was expertly paired with the gin and shows the thought behind the preparation, design and attention to detail with their menu process. After the event we headed up to the roof top and took in the rest of perfect day with a few glasses of wine. The food is always exceptional and their wine selection is well priced with quality by the glass options.”

“Had a wonderful time with my wife and food was delicious! The escargot was nice, grilled octopus was really tender with lovely charred flavour, bouillabaisse was flavourful with clams, mussels, fish, and octopus. The grilled quail was really tender and juicy, paired with grilled broccolini. Staff were really friendly, got outdoor table closest to river and had heater next to us which kept us warm, quiet and cosy atmosphere. Worth recommending!”

“Amazing new place since December 2022 Family owned, I think dad, mum and daughter from Ukraine. 100% Fresh, expect 10-15 min to bake the pizza during quiet hours. $13.50 for a Large Fungi Pizza, lunch-time 2pm. Well priced compared to the competition and miles ahead of Domino’s quality wise, freshness and health. Recommended, will be back if in the area. Must-Try. Plus, they do high-quality Barista Coffee using Professional industrial coffee machine. $7 Large Triple-Shot Iced Latte. Premium Pizza & Premium Coffee.”

“Authentic Italian? Don't look any further. If you appreciate great pasta with a mix of tradition and innovation, Rustichella is the place for you. This restaurant gets you as close as it gets to the prosperous lands of Emilia and Romagna, home to excellences such as Prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, egg pasta, ragù and many others. In my recent visit I was lucky enough to try their rocket tagliatelle with lemon and prosciutto. They were the highlight of a spectacular lunch; in fact, although I was skeptical at first, if their other dishes maintain the same standard, you can't go wrong. As an entrée, the Crescentine are phenomenal. Some might know them as "gnocco fritto", or "tigelle", but don't be fooled. They are something else and they are fantastic. The dessert made me regret not having a second stomach. I went for the traditional panna cotta, with no added jelly, but with a consistency somewhere between a flan and a cheese cake. It was the chocolate one, but the fruit version looked even better. On a different note, the tiramisù sent all the right messages... Definitely something to try next time. Coming to the wine and coffee, Roberto suggested a Pinot noir that accompagned the food splendidly, but next time it will have to be Lambrusco (if you know, you know); as for the coffee, illy never disappoints. About the prices, they are pretty honest if you think about the time, produce and application that goes into offering great food often sourced from overseas, it ended up being around $50 per person. To sum up, I'm glad to have found this place and I wish them all the best, as it will be most likely on my map for a while. Edit: Went back a few times and the place never ceases to amaze. The boar tagliatelle are sublime, and this time we tried the "Torta Cenacchi": Named after Paolo's family, this almond and amaretto cake is topped with fresh pasta. As all real domestic recipes, it can be hard to describe, however, it's definitely worth trying.”

Staff were lovely, catered for food allergies and the mix of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine is perfect. “La Cache à Vin in Brisbane City is a hidden gem that offers a memorable culinary experience. The classic French bistro ambiance adds to the charm, creating an intimate setting even amidst the bustling crowd. Each dish we savored was a masterpiece, cooked to perfection and brimming with flavors. From the delightful Soufflé à l'oignon et Fromage sauce Albufera(fluffy soufflé with confit onion, cheese, Foie Gras & Albufera sauce) to the harmonious Coquilles St Jacques au Beurre d'Agrumes (Grilled japanese Scallops with citrus butter), every bite was a delight. The Caille Rôtie with gratin de pâtes, céleri boule & Speck (Roasted Quail, pasta gratin with celeriac & speck, Mornay sauce & Tarragon jus), and the Gratin Dauphinois showcased culinary expertise. The dessert, Pâte à Choux With Hazelnut Crème Mousseline, was a sweet finale that left a lasting impression. To elevate the experience even further, we paired our meal with the Bourgogne Rouge Bertrand Pinot Noir. Its exquisite notes perfectly complemented the dishes, enhancing the flavors and adding a touch of sophistication. The staff’s professionalism and attentiveness, combined with the delightful culinary journey, showcased why La Cache à Vin is not to be missed. They thoughtfully divided our shared main dish and entree into two separate plates, ensuring we could savor each dish without any hassle. With their knowledgeable service, they offer an authentic French experience that tantalizes all the senses.”

“Do you want to try the best pizza in your life? In my case, I am speechless, because Munja is too delicious to talk about. As an European, closely located to Italy, I know what a good pizza is. Give it a try, you will enjoy it. If you are looking for a good desert afterward, visit the gelato café 200 Meter further down the street and you will have a perfect Italian evening in Wynnum.”

“A beautiful vibrant riverside resturant with delicious Greek food and impeccable service. I had the saganaki and Htapodi to start, followed by mousaka and lamb shoulder for main and bougatsa for dessert. The saganaki was chewy, zesty, cheesy goodness with a nice crunchy caramilasation. The octopus cooked to perfection with a lovely smokyness from the charring. Mousaka, great depth of flavour. Lamb shoulder, falling apart with a freshness from the tzatziki. Bougatsa, crunchy filo pastery with warm silky smooth custard. The cocktails (martinis) were also beautifully balanced and refreshing. Lovely evening and will definitely be coming back.”

“Absolute vibes. Went during their Thursday night where they played jazz tunes. Food was delicious and the staff there were nice and approachable. Would come here for a special occasion and the price was pretty reasonable. Would definitely want to come back here again in the future.”

“Been wanting to try this place since they opened up. Honestly wasn’t expecting too much, but their Bahn Mi was surprisingly good! We ordered the grilled pork and it was perfectly marinated - was not too sweet or salty; it was just right with aromatic flavours. We also got the crunchy prawn and avo rice paper rolls, but was not a fan and do still prefer fresh prawns. This personal preference won’t halt me in giving this place a five star! Now I won’t need to travel the distance for a Bahn Mi fix.”
