Der Metz Restaurant
“Der Mets never disappoints with their range of great beers as well their epic menu. My group of 7 had 4 different beers each, Jägermeister shots, individual selected meals and a pork hock to share. Safe to say we were well hungover the next day but not hungry. We had great banter from the staff also 10/10 experience!”
Cassia
“Everything A+++++ we indians have experienced all sorts of food outside, from street to 5/7 starts Restaurants. CASSIA is one of the 5/7 stars restaurants. I could proudly say that finally, we have had the Master Chefs level dishes in auckland. Perfect spice levels. I like their set manu system. This is the confidence of the Chef. Whatever they will cook is going to b 100/100.. you wouldn't go wrong, and they ll not give you a chance to complain. Very professional staff.”
McDonald's Balmoral
“They've Improved Considerably. Service is Great now. There Burgers & Fries are always fresh! This Macdonalds in Balmoral is always busy and most times you having to wait ages! Not any more! That's why, "I've given them a 5 STAR RATING!”
Di Vino Bistro
“First dinner in NZ and my favourite so far. Very small, intimate dining experience. The chef came out to greet us, essentially asked what we like and made fresh pasta&pizza to our tastes. We asked for veggie food and it was really wonderful. Waitress there was also friendly and talked about NZ when we were curious.”
Mitten Drin
“Great service and great food. Wholesome food at a good price. We were allowed to bring our puppy to the outdoor section which was very accommodating. Pictured: lamb shanks, chicken salad, chicken burger. Everyone loved their meal and not a bite was left on the plate. The chicken burger had a large crispy chicken patty and the cheese was melted in perfectly. The buns had butter (maybe herb or garlic butter) melted in which is a tip I will use at home.”
Garage Project Kingsland
“Friendly service. Great range of beers, and flights of beers (x6) to discover new potential favourites. Great packaging/labelling too. Fun!”
Rosanna's Garden Bar & Eatery
“Have to give this place top marks! We went on mothers day and brought our dog and they were beyond accommodating and very dog friendly which is hard to find in Auckland. Food was good and the drinks were really really nice. Will definately be back again.”
Hello Manly
“We visited this place as a group of 7. The quality of food was amazing, good service, definitely one of the best! Would highly recommend.”
Gorilla Kitchen - Plant Based Eatery & Brewtique
“A classic NZ cafe experience, but made vegan. The wide range of pizzas, burgers, salads and more all come in very generous portions, so come hungry. Great value for money. Vegans and non-vegans alike are spoiled for choice with the large menu filled with both hearty faux meat bites and healthier options too. You will leave very full.”
Brick Bay Wines & Sculpture Trail
“It's a lovely and nice place for the best visiting in Warkworth. Although the service staff working here are busy, they have not forgotten to take care of the first-time visitors. Definitely try the Brick Bay wines! Basic wine testing is NZD10 for 3 different kind of wine with 30ml around each and standing by the counter to drink. Pay for NZD16 will have table service and the capacity of each glass of testing wine is increased to 100ml around.”
Jenna-Maree Cakery
“Can highly recommend Jenna-Maree Cakery. They nailed the brief on the cake decorating and then the cake itself was delicious! I had a number of guests comment on how moist and yummy the cake was!”
Pho Bien
“Been coming here for years with friends and family, consistent and delicious, and same owners! Highly recommend booking tables as they do get quite busy, though walk-ins are accepted and sometimes placed in waiting list if full and you’ve not booked a table”
Mr Murdoch's
“I came here for lunch on a weekend. It wasn't too busy but I really liked the different areas they have set up here. We had to stay indoors though, because the weather wasn't great. The food was delicious. The cheeseburger I had tasted homemade and the pizza was awesome. They have some great lunch specials. We also had a turn on the pool table while we were waiting for the food.”
壹家自助火锅 Wow Buffet
“I got to know why this restaurant is famous :) The boss and staffs are super friendly. Haven’t had that good service in other restaurants for a long time. Loved mini pot so didn’t have to share soup with others. Many side options. will def come back again :)”
Bread & Butter Bakery and Cafe
“Been to this place for many years. Always awesome. Always satisfied. No surprise that there are always busy. On our last visit, unbeknown to us that the wait staff forgot about our food order. An observant manager spotted us looking around and checked on us. Quickly sorted the missing order. Come to apologize multiple times. We assured them that it’s all good. No problems. These things happened. The manager insisted not to charge us for the coffee. Wow. Not many managers and or restaurants would do this. 5 stars indeed.”
Four Points by Sheraton Auckland
“Lovely hotel! Very clean. Easy spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beautiful rooftop bar. Functional gym. And they let me check in at 7AM which was so, so kind of them! That deserves all the stars in my opinion. My only negative is for some reason the windows have a blue tint?! It made my room feel gloomy my entire visit! I couldn’t tell if it was sunny or grey sky out, which was kind of weird. I’d also say I would’ve rather picked a hotel closer to the wharf. That’s just a personal preference maybe, but I felt like this area had more fast food chains/etc than restaurants? Not that it’s a long walk - 15 minutes maybe. But on rainy days I wish I was next door to more options. That’s just a personal preference and doesn’t reflect on anything the hotel can do! It is close to the art gallery and a comedy club etc, and shops etc. Would absolutely recommend it for sure! Guaranteed good customer service and friendly faces which makes it a great place to pick.”
Hallertau Brewery
“I came in a couple of days ago for lunch with my family. The waitress was very welcoming and provided my younger brother with some crayons and an activity sheet. There was a fine selection of beer and the pizzas we ordered were delightful. (The mushroom pizza’s the way to go). It’s amazing to find that the fries were super crispy, as well as the jalapeno poppers being very spicy! (To my liking). There was an outdoor kids playground and games to play which is very convenient for children. Overall, I had a great experience here. Prices were reasonable, food was amazing, and beer was great! (Pale Ale 100%) Definitely will be back.”
Malt Public House
“Didn't order food so can't rate that, but we loved this place. It was recommended as one of the top child-friendly bars, so we thought we'd give it a go and will definitely return. They also had a superb non-alc range.”

Slate - Billiards & Gastropub
“Great environment, it's super chill with great oldies tunes. Came on a Sunday where children's menus become free. Not busy during lunch so it's great the children won't bother other customers. Spacious flooring with up to six pool tables to hire. Wide variety of food options and great cocktails.”
The Artisan
“What an awesome atmosphere, and the food I received was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The customer service was outstanding, the young Maori women that helped me was very respectful and well done up. She definitely has respect for her job. It is awesome to see our indigenous people of New Zealand doing so good.”
Hallertau Clevedon
“I had a lunch with my friend at a Farm house Deli Cafe. We stopped by for beer. It was so fresh beer while chatting friend. Unlike in summer there were enough seats and sat outside with heater on. We lost track of time chatted. It was a great place.”
Gina's Italian Kitchen
“I ordered the pizza caprese with chilli flakes and my friend ordered a garlic bread! The pizza caprese is essentially a Margherita pizza with fresh mozerella, basil leaves and olive oil! I’ve had Margherita’s at a lot of places but Gina’s has to be the best I’ve had! It’s incredible how much flavour was packed into such a simple pizza (I think the chilli flakes also played its part). Definitely rate 10/10! On other hand, the garlic bread was so unique, I have never had anything like it before. The garlic bread was essentially wood fired bread with dried herbs and garlic. It was exceptional, it was not oily or saucy as you would expect your average garlic bread to be. It was crunchy and had just the right amount of oil to not leave the bread so dry in your mouth. But… the best part is when you take a bite and the flavours explode in your mouth. 10/10! Will definitely be ordering again! Super cheap compared to other shops but is also generally reasonably priced!”
The Bavarian Newmarket
“Great environment and service. The shared meat and sausage platter is mostly good except the chicken schnitzel is dry. The egg pasta is so good too.”
