Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort

"Great location/scenery and all the staff are friendly and wonderful. The resort is obviously quite dated and in need of updates. My room was spacious but wallpaper was peeling, shower/bathtub fixtures were barely attached, decor wasnt in great shape, and the walk to my room involved lots of crumbling sidewalks/stairs and broken/rusting railings. The layout is not great either. Depending on your room location it is a very long walk to the main breakfast place and the main pool. There are other pools to enjoy thankfully and a lonby coffee bar that has decent breakfast sandwiches. The restaurant at the top of the resort is beautiful and my meal was delicious. Had unbeatable views during the sunset as well. If you're looking for a nice Arizona desert/mountainous type location with friendly people this is a nice option but it certainly isn't a modern/luxurious place in it's current state. It's also worth noting that I got charged a 5.00 bellman tip and 5.00 maid service tip fee on my final bill. I never used bell services and you should know in advance when you plan gratuities for your maid service that they may be billing you for it without your knowledge."

"A lot of good, some bad. Check in was bad. The person checking us in had a hard time getting her computer up (happens), but then said we had no reservation that she could find. I tried to show her my confirmation but she just wanted my confirmation number. I gave it and she told me that wasn't for this Hilton. I explained we went through Booking. She said that Booking probably hadn't sent over the reservation. After some time, she checked with a manager. Turned out the hotel put my reservation in with my last name as first, and first name as last. Then when the reservation came up, the price was $400 higher than I reserved for. She mumbled something about fees "they don't tell you about". I thought it might be incidentals that would be taken off when we checked out. Then she gave us a vague description of the property (the attendant next to her, helping others was excitingly explaining all the features of the property to others...not what we got). The room was nice but smaller than website pictures appeared. The balcony was really small. We had a "mountain view", but barely. BUT, the room was comfortable, as were the beds. But I slept next to a wall and had to scoot down on the bed to get up. We enjoyed one of the pools and hot tubs. We had a nice stay overall. Check out though was more of the same as check in. I had been told that resort fees would be removed because of the problems with check in--they weren't. And the higher rate was still being billed. The attendant asked me "who told you the resort fees would be removed". Well the guy that told me that was at the other end of the desk, helping others so I pointed and said "that guy". She said she'd have to check. Then she found the rate I was quoted. She made the change and took off the resort fees. I was pleased with that, so all good. Just watch out for what you get charged! Again, though, all in all, nice hotel, pleasant stay"

"Our stay was wonderful! We were visiting Phoenix for my birthday and received a complimentary upgrade to a Signature Suite. Shoutout to whoever was working the desk Thursday evening (2/1) when we checked in. We arguably had the best view on the property. We stayed in building 23 room 6415 if you’d like the same view. All of the pools we visited were great and were all heated with hot tubs. We truly enjoyed the amenities and would recommend the property to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Phoenix!"

"We had a nice time at this resort. The rooms are a little dated and it's pretty obvious from the outlook that the hotel is quite old but we had no complaints. It's a great value for the price. The rooms are clean, the staff is super nice and helpful. There was ample parking and the views were amazing. They had a lot of activities they offered , the pools are all heated, even the ones in the water park but we didn't use it because it was raining. They have a very nice restaurant, mainly because of the views! I would come back again for a short trip."

"This resort was absolutely perfect for my kiddos and I. We visited on a Christmas vacation. The facility was great, the restaurants were delicious with outstanding service, the golf course was in tip top shape, and the pools and jet pool areas were very well maintained. Only thing that frustrated me was that the photos for the double queen suite that I thought I was getting were of an upgraded suite. It was deceiving and I definitely did not like this. If you are planning a stay make sure you are sure of the room you are getting!"
