β OpenWelcome to the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge, a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers located at 367 Alabama 165, Eufaula, Alabama 36027. Nestled within the historical range of the longleaf pine/wiregrass ecosystem, our refuge offers a unique glimpse into a diverse and vibrant natural world. Spanning 11,184 acres, this park is a stunning mosaic of wetlands, croplands, woodlands, old fields, grasslands, and open water habitats. These rich environments support nearly 300 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, as well as numerous amphibians, reptiles, and fish. Situated about 7 miles north of Eufaula, Alabama, along the scenic banks of the Chattahoochee River, Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge extends into both southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia. Established through the dedicated efforts of the local community and in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, our refuge plays a crucial role in providing essential habitats for wintering waterfowl, migratory birds, and resident species.
