The Alabaster YMCA, located at 117 Plaza Circle in Alabaster, Alabama, is a gym and health institution that caters to the community's need for health and wellness, childcare, and programs for individuals of all ages. Established in 2013 after nearly 40 years of service in an older facility, the Alabaster YMCA offers a variety of programs and services to promote a healthy lifestyle. The facility is open Monday through Thursday from 5:00am to 9:00pm, Friday from 5:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Limestone Park
Limestone Park is a unique and diverse park located in Alabaster, Alabama. This park is a popular tourist attraction, especially during the fall, spring, and winter seasons. The park features a combination of wetlands, grasslands, and Tupelo Gum swamp, making it a great spot for birdwatching. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wading birds, swamp and marsh birds, grassland species, waterfowl, songbirds, and shorebirds. One of the highlights of Limestone Park is the handicapped-accessible Birding Observation Deck built by the City of Alabaster and Birmingham Audubon. This deck overlooks the wetlands in the northwestern side of the park, providing visitors with a great vantage point to observe the diverse bird population. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including butterflies, herons, egrets, raptors, and more.
