"Don’t let the accent fool you, NO southern hospitality here. (READ BELOW) The only thing that matters to him is money and his own opinion. Don’t expect to have your cut haircut exactly the way you want it unless he approves it first. Herb is a hole-in-wall barber who relies heavily on the military customers. We just moved to the area and I found him on Yelp. I visited him today I told Herb that I wanted, a close cut, almost a high and tight. He finished trimming and was about to let me up before being asked if was happy with his work. I asked very politely for him to trim closer and higher and he reluctantly did so. He barely made any changes and asked, “is that was good enough?”. I said “almost, but I still want it shorter”. He gruffed and looked at the other customer and said “The customer isn’t always right, not in my place! I never cut more than once, especially three times!” He intentionally left the fade all jacked up and then said he was done and motioned for the other customer to take the chair before I ever got up. The other customer and I looked at each other in bewilderment. I asked Herb if he was serious and he said he was done. So I got up and left with a jacked up haircut. Having been in the military for over ten years I have never been treated with such disrespect."

"Old school barbershop right outside of the Day Street Gate (Maxwell AFB). Just moved here from the Bell Street location he was previously at for several years. Herb is a real professional, and an all-around good guy. I love this place because of the great atmosphere and Herb’s friendly service. He is the ‘only’ barber I want to go to. Definitely recommend him."
