“Stopped in for a coffee mid morning. Parking at front for limited amount of cars. Service was good. Pleasant lady behind bar. Plenty seating with booths which had private tv's. It is a plain working man's type of pub and nothing fancy but that's what I prefer. A good honest relaxed pub which I would not hesitate to revisit.”

“I've been here twice and must say I'm quite impressed. The staff are nice and the food tastes great. It is a little on the pricey side but I feel they are justified when you consider the quality of the food, the portion sizes and the location. I've had both the debris poutine and the mac and cheese with pulled pork and would love to come back to try the ribs which are also a hefty portion.”

“I wasn't that keen on being asked to move tables when I didn't really want to. My hog roast roll was a bit dry. The rest of the food was decent enough, the frickles (picked gherkins in batter) were the stand out, they were really good. Only fair to bump my review up to 5 stars after my second visit. Had the steak and chips with onion rings and peppercorn sauce. It was excellent! Best chips in town. The house beer is delicious too. I'll definitely be going back. Cheers guys.”

“I was delighted to welcome Gidi Grill to Aberdeen after hearing rave reviews about their Dundee branch. The food certainly lived up to the hype. Struggled to narrow down my choice but went for the seabass main and the rum cake dessert - both delicious and I didn't want the meal to end. My friends really enjoyed their dining experience too. Friendly service with a smile and beautifully decorated establishment. I will be back. Thanks!!”

“I enjoyed my meal on Sunday but I found the service bizarre. In retrospect, I wonder if we had done anything wrong. I am not sure when we arrived, but it might have been after three when they have stopped serving. My partner, who I know can be very difficult, asked the chef serving behind the Carvery, if she could have a Vegan meal. He agreed a special price for her, for just vegetables. I was given a special price, for only having a single carvery course. The problem came when we wanted to choose a table. The Sunday Girl initially insisted that we could only have a table in which the cutlery was laid out. We eventually had a table by a window which was much lighter. The extra work involved moving a knife and fork. At this point, my partner decided she did not want anything at all. So she left me on my own, which I was quite happy about. I was feeling hungry and I had wanted to eat at the Porterhouse for a long time. So far, so good. I enjoyed my meal. When I finished I stood by the entrance to pay. The Sunday Girl pointedly ignored me and chatted with her colleagues at the bar. I walked over to the bar to pay. I was presented with a bill for two people by the Sunday Girl. When I protested, the chef reduced this by half. A lot of people find these confrontations surprisingly unpleasant.”

“The City Bar & Diner, in my opinion, is one of Aberdeen’s hidden food gems. The team are absolutely lovely, but it’s not just them who make the venue exceptional. The food the kitchen team is serving up is very impressive and what I love most is the creativity of the different dishes. What you envision in your mind might not necessarily be what you get on your plate, but I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal there once. If you haven’t already go give it a try, I can almost bet it will be a place you’ll visit again and again.”

“Booked the up stairs area for part of a stag do. Great space where you can basically do what you want with, has plenty seating a pool table. staff are super accomodating, helpful and did a great job looking after what we needed. 100% recommend this for parties etc!”

“Had a celebration dinner at Cartoos, walking in “by chance”. Absolutely Outstanding! The food is divine and well presented making it so much more appetising. The portions are huge. The deserts are decadent with one of the most selections I’ve seen. Death by chocolate for me with each waffle arriving at the table crispy and hot. The decor is great. Love the modern “robot” waiters. Seating you at your table and assisting with your meals. Quite the attraction. If you haven’t been yet then you’re missing out!”

“First time visiting Brig O’Don to try their Sunday roast! The waitress who served me (I’m sorry I forgot her name) was really nice, polite and attentive as she took some time and effort to give me some options for specific drinks and alternatives available. I tried the lamb shank part of the Sunday roast, it was really lovely! The lamb was really tender and the other parts of the dish was cooked really well and they were very generous with their gravy. The environment and deco in the pub was really nice and suits the Christmas vibe at the moment. My only feedback would be that the drinks menu was slightly dirty and it was not clean. Definitely worth visiting!!!”
