"Firstly, let me share that I have not been to this facility since 2012. The reason I am leaving a review so many years later is because I have decided to try this service again, and came across this business under a different name when I was doing a Google search, and felt the need to let potential customers read about my experience. I had gone to a different facility prior, but decided to try this one because it was much closer to home and she also offered a Groupon. When I arrived for my appointment, the place was closed. I called and reached the owner, Renee, who seemed annoyed and was very nasty with me, saying that she was at a birthday party on the west side and would’ve never scheduled my appointment on a day that she wasn’t going to be there. I always write down my appointments and make them around my work schedule, so I knew I made it for that day, but I had no other option than to reschedule for a different day. It clearly was a miscommunication, but she didn’t need to speak to me that way. That was strike one. I arrived for my appointment and upon entering the building, it seemed nice enough. Cluttered and cramped - because it was a small house and she offered several services - but that didn’t make or break my experience. I understand Renee was the only one working and she was upstairs giving a massage. So I sat in the makeshift waiting room for quite a while before she even came down (late) to acknowledge that I had arrived for my appointment. When she was ready for me, she walked me into the room which was very nice. Although I loved the owner and the care I got at the previous facility, the building and rooms themselves were a little old and dated and not exactly “warm and fuzzy” or relaxing. It was more “medical and antiseptic” than “spa” looking. But in hindsight, I’d rather have the bedside manner than the bamboo plants and sunlight coming through the windows. Anyhow, Renee proceeded to explain what was going to happen, which I basically already knew because I had done this before, and when she asked if I had ever done it, I told her yes and where I had gone. She kind of scoffed and was irritated that his services were much more inexpensive than hers because that “took business away from her”. I thought that was very unprofessional and wasn’t a conversation she should be having with a client. After she left me to get ready, I prepped myself and noticed that there was nowhere for me to clean myself after my procedure except for some baby wipes. I was offered an actual spray nozzle, wash cloth, soap and towels to cleanse myself at the other facility. I laid on the bed and started my procedure and started to get very bad cramping so I asked Renee to come in. She was very brash in her reply, as if I were disturbing her, and said, “Of course you’re going to have cramping if you are normally constipated”. Then walked out. Didn’t offer an abdominal massage or heating pad like I was given at the other facility. Furthermore, there was no lock on the door, which kind of left me uneasy because if you are familiar with this procedure, there isn’t a whole lot of modesty. And aside from all of this, her little dog was running around at will, which isn’t conducive for a sterile environment. When I finished my procedure and met her in her office, she pretty much pushed a pricey probiotic on me, which I really wasn’t prepared to purchase, but did so because I felt obligated. And she also very kindly (sarcasm) reminded me that tipping wasn’t included in the Groupon, so there went some more money that I wasn’t prepared to spend. Tipping?? Ok. I guess overall I left with what I had gone there for - a colon cleanse. But my experience was less than par and I never went back again. I hope in these past nine years Renee has upped her game in the professionalism department and uses a little more tact in the way she deals with customers. I have worked in customer service my entire life and I would never imagine treating a paying (or non-paying) customer like this."
