Norris Dam State Park Visitor Center 125 Village Green Circle, Rocky Top, TN 37769

"My spouse and I reserved an historic cabin updated to current accessible specs. Built by the CCC in the 1930s, the cabin is pretty intimate. With one room including the kitchen area, dining area, TV, couch, fireplace, and queen bed, plus a separate nicely updated and spacious bathroom, it was just right for the two of us for a 3 night getaway. The kitchen area has a modern sink and faucet, modern stove/range, coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator/ freezer. Everything works as expected. There's a nice screened-in porch on one end of the cabin. We observed that some of the other cabins had swings on their porches, but ours did not. It was warm (August) so we didn't use the fireplace. It looks functional and firewood is available at the park office. In each cabin yard, including ours, there's a picnic table, a fire ring, a grill, and several Adirondack style chairs. We arrived on a Tuesday and stayed through Thursday night after Labor Day. Not all cabins were occupied, and it was nice and quiet. We walked through the cabin area and found what other folks were there to be friendly."

"Pretty nice campground. The sites were a bit un-level, but they were paved, so that was nice. And just be aware, the road to the West Campground was quite steep and curvy. We were in a 32' class A and we did fine. Also, the dump station was not level, so my tanks would not empty all the way."

"We visited the visitor center for a field trip. Our ranger talked with our group about the dam history and animals of the area. She was well-versed, interesting and engaging. Her voice carried well and she seemed comfortable in front of an audience. The gift shop was surprisingly great. For such a small area, they had lots of great little finds and things I would actually buy. Good prices and excellent selection. Kudos to their buyer! We got a few things as memoirs."
