"We really love to launch our kayaks from here. It is beautiful. There are a lot of teenage kids that litter this entire area though. Last Sunday we picked up two large bags of trash and threw them away in a trashcan that was only 100 feet away. All the plastic ends up in the lake when it rains. When we grew up we were taught to always leave a place cleaner than you found it. Are parents no longer teaching their children this?"

"Another excellent trail that stays along Tellico Lake the entire way, has nice views and multiple lake access points. It is well maintained by WATeR, with several foot bridges and one bench for viewing. It's about 5.6 miles RT to Coytee Loop trailhead or 4.8 mi when taking the shortcut 1x."

"Great place to hike. Parking is up the hill a little, or down by the water. The trail head is small. Just says "Trail". We did the trail all the way through, then went back on the short cut. Was about 3.5 miles total. Great for beginners or those who just want a day hike without driving to the smokeys. You're along the water for a good part. I do believe this is an off leash area, so dog owners, be aware."
