The Lusk Home, completed in 1841, stands as a testament to the ambition and enterprise of early European settlers. Captain Lusk, who acquired the land in 1825, also built a grist mill in 1829, showcasing the industrious spirit of the era. Today, the restored home offers seasonal tours that provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the pioneers, with informative plaques and engaging storytelling.
While visiting, you can also explore several other historic sites within Turkey Run State Park. Discover the Lieber Cabin, the oldest of its kind in the state, built in 1848, and the Log Church, originally constructed in 1871, where non-denominational services are held every Sunday during the warmer months.
