"Here is the truth about Balmaseda. She is rude and obnoxious and cruel. I went there for help and was in ton of pain. If you have a history of mental illness, then beware because she WILL discriminate. On my first visit, she seemed so caring and nice and I was so happy to have someone who cared. She said I had spondololisthesis and something else I can't pronounce and that she could help me. I left with a scrip for Neurontin and hope. She sent me to get some tests as well. I came back the next visit and she comes in and starts screaming at me. She tells me that nothing is wrong with me and that I'm a liar and she is not going to help me. I am shocked and I take it because I'm not good at fighting back when that kind of thing happens. I meekly tell her that I've had problems since I was born and that many medical tests and scans show that I do have some conditions that cause chronic pain in my back and that I'm not lying. Then she calms down and tells me that she is not giving me any narcotics (which I never asked for, ever) and I am only going to get Neurontin. I said that was fine. I never went back after that. What's funny is she has a sign on her wall saying that if you are rude to her or her staff then she will charge you extra for the visit. When I went home that day in tears, my husband wanted to go back and deck her but I calmed him down. This woman is nuts or something and I would never subject myself to her abuse."

"I only give a 4 so far because I've only had one visit but her examination and her ability to listen to what exactly is going on with you was more than I'd had anyone do for me in the year since my chronic pain started. We have a plan of action which is great but still in severe pain only because initial decision on medication not working and still two weeks till appt. Looking forward to it though because I feel she really wants to help me with my severe back pain."
