Reviews
"Beautiful property with very nice views of the marsh. The building themselves are kept up and look very authentic to the times. Nice farmhouse area with old farming tools as well as some hidden gems inside the house."
"This is a beautiful plantation that represents the history and culture of Georgia 1800s, enslaved African laborers, helped William Brailsford cultivate a rice plantation from marshes along the Altamaha River. Tg8s family evolved with the times turning this once a rice farm into a dairy one. The last survivor of the family left the property to the state of Georgia in 1973. Easy to find, ample parking and a beautiful sight to see. Great for the whole family. Bring your insect repellent, mosquitoes are wild here! You can go and check out a nice museum, watch a short film about the Plantation history. Inside the plantation house you'll be able to see gorgeous antiques very well kept. Great family friendly visit option!"
"Amazing grounds to walk and the house is filled with historic furniture. You can hear about the plantation's history and the families connection to the war and post slavery dairy farming. Furniture was all original to the families that lived there and is an amazing collection."
"Very interesting history of a family and their rice feilds. Beautiful property. Good outing for a family or anyone wanting to learn about the Brunswick history and area."
"This place was absolutely amazing! We had a tour guide show us around the house and it was breath taking. After the tour we were allowed to roam around the plantation. There were so many cool places to check out! I definitely recommend bring sunscreen and bug spray! I can not tell you how many times I got but our there by the marsh. I wish I could show you more pictures! I took so many on this trip but sadly I can only give you 50."
