"I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, on March 29th 2023. I was devastated for one day only, because I was soon going to be a first time grandfather. The very next day,I made appointments with three hospitals, and Dr.Smaldone was my first appointment. After meeting with him,I knew he was the right doctor for me,so I canceled the other appointments. After, three chemo treatments, I had my bladder removed, and replaced with a neo bladder, made up with parts of my bowels. It functions like my original bladder,but it takes time to get used to it,because you have to do exercises to strengthen it,but gradually you'll be more in control of it. Dr.Smaldone was there for me,every step of the way,discussing different options. Most of all his confidence, gave me hope,and gave me confidence, that I would make it through this,and see my granddaughter. Way to go Doc !!!"
