"Just got off the phone with a rude woman who couldn't find any of my many requests for the dead tree limbs that keep falling in the street/my property/hanging over my house then just hung up. She told me I needed to call CSB, who sent me back to forestry, and another person miraculously found my many work order requests with no updates on when it will be taken care of. I guess every request has to go be a news story and a court case."
"Called about a big tree that was falling over in April. They finally came out in August to do something about it. In that time there were enough storms that came through that caused the tree to significantly move and break our water line, sidewalk, and retaining wall. When the department did come out the nocked down a city street light and left the live wires dangling out of the ground (still not fixed), and they left the tree in the middle of the road (still not gone). It has been over a week and no one has come back and no one has returned calls or emails. We have called the Forestry Department, Ameren, Citizens Bureau, and the Water Department. No action has been taken, but what can we expect from a city that does not have 911."
"I have submitted request and called the forestry department for the past 3 YEARS TO HAVE three tree stumps that should have been removed when the forestry cut and removed the tree branches. Having short staff one stump could have been removed a year."
"The forestry department came to assess the silver maple in our backyard. The inspector parked his truck in our back alleyway (at least 20ft away from our tree) and spent 3-4 minutes taking pictures. He incorrectly deemed it a hazardous tree and the forestry department demanded we remove it. We sought a second opinion from an actual arborist who conducted a proper inspection and deemed our tree healthy. The arborist was shocked that someone decided a tree with buds, no cracks, no fungus, no dead limbs, and no signs of disease or decay would need to be removed. Please do not rely on the forestry department for accurate tree assessments. Contact an arborist recommended by the Missouri Botanical Garden or seek a consultation from other certified arborists in the area."
"Employees that cannot even identify a healthy tree. They just mark anything for job security. Today they cut down a perfectly healthy Zelkova that was just planted a few years ago. All the debris has been left in the street so home owner cannot even park in front of their home."
