Welcome to Second Baptist Church, an open and progressive American Baptist congregation located at 9030 Clayton Road in Richmond Heights, Missouri, serving the greater St. Louis area. We are a community focused on the teachings of Jesus, emphasizing acceptance, grace, and love over conformity and judgment. Here, everyone is welcome without exception.

Our exceptional choir enhances the experience with a diverse range of inspirational music, from traditional to classical to contemporary. Our unique mid-century Sanctuary of the Beatitudes, known for its superior acoustics, offers a peaceful space to reflect, connect, and feel the presence of God.

Our Sunday School classes cater to all ages, focusing on adult Bible study, living our faith, and education for children and youth. We encourage individuals to question, explore, and interpret scripture as their personal journey guides them, embracing the belief that Christians should approach God directly.

Second Baptist Church is committed to progressive thought and action, including the leadership and ordination of women and welcoming all people, regardless of ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other status. Our community provides a friendly and safe environment, with special outreach for those who have experienced grief, disappointment, or hurt by other religious experiences, as well as for LGBTQ individuals, their families, and immigrants from Burma/Myanmar who speak the Karen language.
