"Pastor and Helen Genneria are great examples of leading a life by Christ's example. This was my Grandmother's church for decades from Pastor Hellewege, to Pastor VanderWier and now with Pastor Genneria. She made many friends in the church and would drive a few women, who were unable to drive, to Sunday services. She would help with Vacation Bible School and attend the revivals. She spoke happily of the many missionaries the church supported and was very happy when those missionaries would visit the church and share their experiences in the countries they were called to serve. When she became unable to attend services any longer, Pastor, Helen and other members would visit and call her. This warmed her heart. Helen makes homemade breads and would often bring over a loaf for Gramma. More so than big things we do, it is the little things we do that shows our love for Christ. It is these little things; calls, visits and bread that showed the deep Godly love this small church has. Gramma's funeral was held in the chapel. Pastor Genneria gave a wonderful service that Gramma would have loved. Thank you to all the members of Open Door for the many years of love shown to Gramma."
