"I needed a quiet place away from home for the night while work was being done. I completely enjoyed the hospitality of this hotel, the bar, and the restaurant. Even though I'm a local person, I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good hotel in this area for any reason."

"As an Amex gold card holder, we were expecting the usual complimentary upgrade. But they don’t honor that here (even though they were less than half full). The room was fairly clean and beds very comfortable. There was NO soap at the sink or shower. Plenty of lotion and shampoo and conditioner but no hand or body soap to be had and the desk couldn’t find any either. Breakfast was fine. Can’t see why one would pay more to stay here instead of a regular Hampton Inn."

"I am very disappointed in Hilton Garden Inn Dothan. When my husband took a shower in our initial room (room 111) there were both 'small' curly black hairs and longish black hairs in the shower. The shower had not been thoroughly cleaned in a LONG time as there was caked up, hardened soap scum all over the wall. It looked like someone in the distant past had taken their hand and rubbed the scum, making 'balls' of it on the wall. Since no one had cleaned it, ever, those 'balls of scum' became hardened over time. (Take a look at the shower walls in room 111 and you'll see what I mean.) Neither of us has black hair. My husband came out of the shower and told me, "I don't want you using that shower. Give this place a one or two star review." I asked him why and he told me about his experience. I insisted on speaking to the manager first and went to the front desk where I spoke with Robert. He apologized profusely and arranged for a night cleaning woman to go to room 102 with me to inspect the bathroom there. After the inspection, we switched rooms. Robert repeatedly assured us that the manager was "very proactive" with these things and would be calling us. We have received no such call and tomorrow morning will be 3 days since the morning we expected to receive a call. I know they have my phone number because Robert took the time to verify it. If the manager had contacted me as promised, I would not have left a poor review but he has left me no other choice. There is no excuse for a shower being that dirty when Windex cleans soap scum and hairs in the shower is clear evidence that it has not been cleaned since the last occupant. Why 2 stars? It would've been 1-star but Robert did the right thing and tried his best."

"Rooms are sub par at best, many need a desperate upgrade as carpets look awful and rooms are dated with malfunctioning appliances and fixtures. I notified front desk of issues with tv and lamps and was told it would be addressed immediately the following morning and alas, nothing was done. You don’t get the typical Hilton experience on this property. Service is decent, as several staff members are polite while others seem unapproachable. Location is ideal for business or vacation as I’ve used this location for both on multiple occasions. Central to great dining, shopping and recreational activities. EDIT: The owners don’t read the reviews as they thanked me for a “four star” review that’s clearly a three star review notating several issues I’ve experienced during my stay. Don’t stay here as management doesn’t care about their property."

"Shop Around Before Choosing this Hotel. We stayed last night and paid nearly $400 FOR 1 NIGHT. It was one of the last 2 rooms they had and it was a suite with 2 queen beds. That same room tonight??? Wait for it....$154 + tax. The exact same room....One was on a Tuesday night (with a Thunderstorm approaching) and the other was for a Wednesday night (with nice weather.) Bottom line...I paid for it because other places were booked up. My problem is the algorithm that Hilton uses to squeeze maximum dollars from customers when they can. I get it, I get it...it is capitalism and I'm for that....but I won't be staying at a Hilton again anytime soon. Before you book this hotel...PLEASE save yourself some money and shop around first. I wish we had."
